Your True Friends Will Tell You The Truth Even When It’s Bitter And Painful

SHARE

Your true friends will tell you the truth, even when you don’t want to hear it. Even when it’s too hard for you to accept it. They won’t try to sugarcoat the truth so as to make it look more pleasant and acceptable than it really is. They won’t hide the truth from you so as to protect you from pain.

Your true friends are always going to tell you the bitter, harsh truth about any part of your life. Why?

Because they genuinely love and care about you.

Your true friends will let you know when you’re making a bad choice or decision. They won’t let you embarrass yourself in front of others, ruin your own happiness, or fill your life with regrets.

Your true friends will tell you: “Where do you think you’re going with that crappy outfit?” – when you really look like a mess.

Your true friends will tell you the things you don’t even notice. They’ll tell you which of the people you’re close with are truly honest with you and nice to you and which of them are good to you only because they’re trying to take advantage of you and your kindness.

Your true friends won’t let anyone play with your feelings and break your heart.

Your true friends will show you their feelings openly. They will be themselves around you. They won’t play mind games with you and manipulate you. Because they’re not that kind of people – they are real. They are true.

Your true friends will tell you when your hair is a mess, but they’ll also tell you that your boyfriend or girlfriend is a mess too. Because they’ll always be honest and open with you.

Your true friends will tell you if they don’t like your partner, even if they know that this will make you sad. Because they’ll never pretend to like and approve of them. They’ll never pretend that they’re okay with your relationship if they know that your partner isn’t the right one for you. They’ll never let you be with someone who doesn’t deserve you. They’ll never let you be blinded by love.

Because that’s what true friends do. They’re always there for you. They’re always there to protect you from negative, fake, manipulative, dishonest people. They’re always there to ease your worries when you are upset. They’re always there to comfort you and alleviate your pain when you’re going through a breakup.

Your true friends are always there to pick you up when life knocks you down.

Your true friends are there to believe in you even when you don’t. They’re there to accept and cherish you for who you are. They’re there to embrace your imperfections and help you embrace them yourself. They’re there to remind you of your worth and grandeur when you doubt yourself. They’re there to remind you of your strength when you feel weak.

Your true friends are there to have fun and laugh with you until your stomachs hurt. They’re there to watch movies while drinking wine with you. They’re there to keep your secrets and share their own with you. They’re there to give you wise pieces of advice.

Your true friends are the ones you can always rely on for their help and support. They’re the ones who stay by your side through your best days as well as worst days. They’re the ones who stick with you through thick and thin.

Your true friends are those that do all of the things mentioned above, not out of envy or hatred, but out of love – genuine, pure, unconditional love.

They do all of this because they truly love you and care about you. Because they want you to be happy and fulfilled. Because they want you to feel comfortable in your own skin and be satisfied with your life. Because they want to encourage you to become the best version of yourself. Because they wish you the best. Because they love you with every part of them and your friendship means the world to them.
