We’ve all felt the unsettling sensation inside our stomach that usually happens when we meet a certain person who we personally find irresistible. We’ve all experienced that instant connection, that immediate attraction, that primal magnetism. The beginning of a truly out-of-this-world bond.
But, an intense soulmate connection that instantly makes your knees weak, your heart pound like crazy and your palms sweat is not the same as meeting your one true soulmate.
The Buddhists say “If you meet somebody and your heart pounds, your hands shake, your knees go weak, that’s not the one. When you meet your ‘soulmate’, you’ll feel calm. No anxiety, no agitation.”
We are raised to believe that the arriving of our soulmate will turn our life upside down, force us to accept vast changes, face the tides and experience tremendous, life-shifting events.
But, what if the Buddhists were right?
What if a soulmate is a human being who shows up in your life and suddenly makes it all seem easier than it is?
What if a soulmate is someone who comes into your life and makes you feel the calmest you’ve ever been?
Throughout this life, we meet a lot of people. And even though we’re not fully aware, one way or another, they all leave their footprints onto our souls. Every single one of them arrives into our lives for a reason. They all have a purpose they need to fulfill.
Some of them lift us up and teach us how to fly, others put us down in the gutter…And then, there are some who have the inexplicable power to quiet ever our loudest of insecurities.
Human beings who immediately put us into a transcendental state of mind, a divine ecstasy. An equilibrium. The highest level of tranquility.
Call them what you want. Soulmates. Twin Flames. Destined people. Kindred spirits. Second selves.
But, one thing is for sure.
The one and only soulmate for you, the right one will come into your life and calm you. They won’t trigger a thunderstorm inside of you, they won’t ignite a fire, but instead they will be the tide to your ocean.
You’ll feel like you’ve known them from a previous life, or a parallel universe or maybe a dream. The very moment when your eyes meet and your hands touch, you’ll feel an incredible relief.
A moment of eternal bliss.
Every pain and uncertainty will be gone. Every insecurity will be dead. Every doubt in your head will disappear.
Your heart won’t pound, your hands won’t sweat, and your legs won’t shake. Your voice won’t tremble, and you won’t stutter, because deep down you’ll know that the being standing next to you is the person you were searching for your entire life.
The things that didn’t make any sense will become much clearer and everything you once questioned will be answered through the powerful gaze the two of you share.
That is how powerful your energy will be once your eyes meet, once your heart recognizes their energy and your souls melt into a single one.
Time will cease to exist. Space will no longer be tangible. There will be only you and them diving into an endless sea of serenity, caught in an eternal bliss.
