It’s Comforting To Know That Your Deceased Loved Ones Are Watching Over You

Saying our final goodbyes to the people we love is the hardest thing in life. There is no pain more excruciating, gut-wrenching and traumatizing than the pain of loss. In moments like those, there is nothing that a person can do to help you overcome the tragedy. There is no remedy, no hug, no drug strong enough to keep you on your knees…

No one prepares you for it, no one tells you how to cope with it. You live your life thinking that there’s time, and then BAM! All of a sudden, life hits you. You lose a friend, a parent, a loved one…

I know how this feels. And I know that you do too. Personally, I’m still going through the process of mourning the loss of my Nana. The only thing that helps me is the thought of her watching over me. While physically she may no longer be there to hug me, her spirit is very much present in my life. Say what you will, but I know she’s there…

Here are 5 signs that a deceased loved one is watching over you:

1. You see them in your dreams. Dreams can be pretty vivid, confusing and even strange at times. Regardless, most of the time, you know that you’re dreaming. But when a deceased, loved one is trying to reach you, it becomes pretty difficult to make a difference between dreams and reality. You feel their touch, smell their perfume, see them and talk to them as if they’re right there in front of you. According to Patricia Garfield, an academic specializing in the study of dreams, these dreams are emotionally packed, and may dramatically alter the life and belief system of the dreamer.”

2. You feel their presence. Like they’re right there standing in the same room next to you. I can’t really explain this feeling to a person who has never experienced this before. All I can say is that it’s powerful. When a deceased, loved tries to contact you, you will notice it. You will feel it in your bones. You may mistake it with a gentle breeze or a strange sound coming from the next room at first. But once it happens to you, you will know. If you wake up having a feeling that someone is watching you, know that it is probably your loved one trying to contact you.

3. They come to you in times of need. You know that feeling when you are going through a terribly hard time and then all of a sudden, you feel that someone or something reaches out for you and somehow magically takes away your pain? I do. Because of her. She has appeared to me in my times of need. She has been my support and my shoulder to cry when I felt the weakest. It’s a feeling that you cannot be familiar with if you haven’t felt. It is an out of this word experience. But it is real.

4. You wake up knowing certain things that you never had knowledge of before. Sometimes you wake up understanding things that you never thought you’d understand. You open your eyes and you know the answer to all of those questions that have been on your mind for so long. Chances are, your loved one came to you in your sleep and helped you realize something that is of great importance to you. If you experience this, know that it is not a coincidence. They care about you and they want to make sure that you don’t make a mistake or go blindly into something.

5. You finally feel closure. The sadness is a part of you, but with each visit they pay you, you feel much calmer and stronger. Their spiritual presence in your life makes you feel like you are finally getting that closure over their loss. You start to make your peace it and you finally realize that you have to let them go. The reality no longer breaks your heart, but rather heals it. All that is left are the memories of your time spent together.
