Love is not hard.
I don’t know who told you that, or why did they make you believe in such a thing, but it’s not true.
Now, I am not going to lie, sometimes, love does feel like a battlefield.
It does feel like making sacrifices, but not getting anything in return. But, you know what I think? That only depends on the person next to you. It depends on who you’ve decided to put all that effort into. In some cases, it’s just not worth it.
We’ve all fallen for the wrong person. We’ve all been hurt and disappointed. But the saddest thing in my opinion is realizing that you’ve been fighting in vain. That you’ve wasted a whole lot of time on a wrong relationship. That you’ve given your heart to someone who never deserved it. And got nothing in return.
It hurts to make peace with that kind of reality. But you have to. Sooner or later, you’ll have no choice. And the pain will haunt you even more.
So, let go. Let it all flow. Release yourself from that burden and allow yourself to feel free for the first time in a long time.
Love should never feel hard. It should never make you suffer.
Take as much time as you need to heal and promise yourself that you will never ever settle for something average, much less love.
Instead of accepting breadcrumbs, promise yourself that this time, you will wait until you find someone who accepts the real you.
Someone who will fall in love the very first minute they lay eyes on you. Someone who will see the spark in those of yours and instantly know that you are the person that they’ve been looking for. Someone who will be there for you in a way no one else has been. Someone who will do everything to make you feel safe around them. Someone who will never stop proving their love for you. Someone who will help you glue those broken pieces back together. Someone who will finally see you for the person you are and get to know you on a completely different level…
Promise yourself that you are going to wait for that kind of love…
For you deserve nothing less than the best.
