Can you imagine a volunteer work where you are in charge of napping with cats? Well, that’s the job of Terry Lauerman, a 76-year-old gentleman who is a cat lover. He is a member of a local animal shelter where he naps every day with the cats there.

The Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary is a sanctuary for disabled cats. They take them in, and they offer them a safe haven. It is a cage-free, non-profit adoption center that rescues cats with psychological or physical disabilities.

The shelter also houses senior and neonatal cats which would be at risk of being put down in other shelters. In this shelter, visitors can come and spend time with the cats, give them love and warmth. All cat-lovers are welcome there. They can grab a drink and then enjoy their time with their furry friends.

Terry Lauerman is a regular there. This 76-year-old man, known as “Grandpa Terry” is at the sanctuary every day.

“We are so lucky to have a human like Terry. Terry just came along one day and introduced himself. He said he’d like to brush cats. Eventually, it became every day,” the staff wrote on the sanctuary’s Facebook page.“He brushes all of the cats, and can tell you about all of their likes and dislikes.”
