6 Brutal Truths That Will Make You So Much Stronger

We’re born into this world unaware of the harsh realities of life. As we get older, we start to learn more about the truth of existence. Despite that, many of us go on without ever really learning, or accepting, these truths.

Knowing them and understanding them is the key to growing as a person. To help you do that, here are 6 brutal truths that will make you so much stronger.

1. Nothing is Ever Perfect

There is no perfect person, no perfect body, no perfect life, and no perfect time to start working towards your dreams. There’s no point in striving for something impossible because you’ll only be let down because of it. The only thing that you can do is be the best that you can be and try your hardest to succeed in life.

2. You Have More Time Than You Think

People make so many excuses to avoid doing things that scare them. One of the biggest excuses that they make is that they simply don’t have the time. The truth is that there’s always time. If you really want something, you can make it happen. Stop wasting time on your phone or watching TV and start working instead.

3. It’s No One’s Job to Fix You

Terrible things happen and we’re often powerless to stop them. When you have problems in your life, you need to understand that it’s your responsibility to look after them. Although it’s great to have people in your life that you can turn to for support, never rely on them to fix you.

4. And It’s Not Your Job to Fix Anyone

Just as no one’s going to solve all your problems, you can’t solve everyone else’s either. It may sound selfish, but you need to make yourself a priority and look after your own needs first. Of course, it’s important to be there for the people that you love, but don’t forget to take care of yourself first.

5. You’re Going to Fail

Failure is inevitable and you’re just going to have to accept that. It’s awful when you don’t succeed at something or you make a stupid mistake, but you can’t let that stop you. If you give up every time you fail, you’ll never get anywhere. So, pick yourself up when you fall and get straight back up on the horse.

6. You Never Know When Your Last Day Is

Death is difficult to comprehend. As the Dalai Lama once said, “You live as if you are never going to die, and then die having never really lived.” Any day could be your last and you will never know that it’s coming. Instead of putting things off and being too scared to try, go out there and really live. This is the only chance that you’re going to get, so take it.

Most people don’t want to accept these harsh truths, but we all need to. Knowing them and truly living by them is the key to success, strength, and happiness. Never forget them and never take your life for granted.

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”
