5 Brutal Life Truths That You Must Learn To Become A Better Person

Buddhist’s philosophy teaches us that by accepting and embracing the positive as well as the negative aspects of our life is the path towards eternal happiness.

By denying any negative experiences or emotions, we are willingly turning a blind eye to reality while resisting and trying to stop the natural forces of the universe – and that’s impossible.

So, here are 5 brutal truths about life that we should all learn once and for all.

1. IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY, YOU MUST SEE REALITY FOR WHAT IT IS.

If you want to be happy and free, you must see everything around you for what it is. Try to not be set too much in your own thoughts and opinions, and instead try staying open to fresh insights and be accepting of any truths that come your way.

Many of us try to avoid negative emotions and focus only on the positive, but that’s not the way towards happiness. You need to confront and challenge those emotions to be completely free.

2. THE ROOT OF SUFFERING IS THE PURSUIT OF TEMPORARY FEELINGS.

Many people out there crave happiness. However, they falsely think that happiness includes feelings of joy, euphoria, and excitement because those feelings are only temporary. And by pursuing those temporary feelings they make their situation worse and they end up suffering.

So, if you want to find true happiness, you should look to find your inner peace. Because the root of suffering is the pointless pursuit of temporary feelings which causes a person to be in a constant state of restlessness, dissatisfaction, and tension.

3. WORRYING IS USELESS.

Worrying will not lead you anywhere. Worrying is a state of mind and won’t help you solve anything in your life. It is a complete waste of time and energy. However, even things in your life are not as you would like them to be, you can still be happy and content knowing that you are trying your best.

Because if you don’t smile, breathe, and live every moment of your life deeply and passionately, you won’t be able to help yourself or anyone else. You need to be happy in the present moment without expecting any additional circumstances to bring you more happiness. Practice being aimless – don’t run after things, don’t try to grasp them!

4. MEDITATION IS THE PATH TO REDUCING PAIN AND SUFFERING.

Meditation is teaching us that everything in our life is fleeting, so are our feelings. It teaches us that we only have the present moment. The present is the only thing that really exists.

You must understand that it is pointless to pursue your feelings because they will undoubtedly arise, and they will pass. And when you stop pursuing them your mind will become more clear, relaxed, and satisfied. Every feeling that arises is destined to pass – anger, joy, boredom, sadness – they all go away. You just have to accept them for what they are and live in the present moment.

5. YOU NEED TO ACTIVELY ACCEPT CHANGE.

Everything in life changes – weather changes, seasons change, you change. It doesn’t matter where are you in your life – everything is changing around you. The trouble arises when you are resisting the change and you try to keep things constant and fixed. By doing this, you are going against the laws of the universe.

You must accept and embrace change if you want to liberate yourself. By accepting all the changes that happen around you, you are allowing yourself to create positive changes in your life by taking the lead with your new-found energy and wisdom.
