It can be so easy to go about your life, ignorant to the blatant truths that are all around us. Some of them are too hard for us to hear, so we shut them out and pretend that they don’t exist. The only thing that will come from that is a life half-lived that will be full of misfortune and regrets.

Let’s just get that one out of the way right now. Although it may be the hardest truth to face, it’s important. You will die one day, so stop living like you won’t.

2. So is Everyone Else

Just like you, everyone else will be gone one day too. Stop holding grudges against the people you love, ignoring them, or not giving enough of your time to them. You’ll end up regretting it.

Money is necessary, you need it for food, medical bills, and for somewhere to live. What isn’t useful, is holding onto wealth and material possessions that aren’t worth anything in real life.

4. Time is Your Most Valuable Possession

You have a limited amount of time on this Earth, so use it well. Would you rather remember how many amazing experiences you’ve had, or how much time you spent scrolling on your phone?

10. Life Isn’t All About Fun

When people say to “live your best life” they don’t mean you should go out partying every night and spend all your money on designer clothes. Sometimes you need to do things that aren’t fun but will help you to improve your life.

11. External Happiness Will Only Bring Sadness

You can’t get real happiness from things like money, possessions, or even other people. The joy you get from those things will fade. If you want true happiness, you need to find it from within yourself.

12. Don’t Waste Your Potential

So many people waste their talents by giving into their fears. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there or to put in the work that it takes to live up to your true potential.

14. Be Thankful for What You Have

Stop whining about what you don’t have or what you want, it’s immature and just annoying for the people around you. If you want something, work hard to get it. Most importantly, always be thankful for all the amazing things you already have.

15. People Remember More Bad than Good

You could give someone 1000 compliments, but they’ll always remember the one time you insulted them. Do your best to do good deeds that can’t be overshadowed by your mistakes.
