We live in a fast-moving world and it appears as if no one has time to wait for anyone or anything. The internet is full of inspirational quotes about making things happen and “seizing the day” when you have the chance, so it doesn’t surprise me that almost everyone has become so impatient.
I have been impatient for all of my life. I wanted to fulfill all of my goals, both personal and professional. I have never been the type of person who tends to wait for the “perfect moment” to do something or postpone things until later. Even in my 20s, I had a clear, definite agenda: get my college degree, get a well-paid job, get married, and start a family. Fortunately, I’ve ticked off all of the boxes.
I really wasn’t aware of the power that waiting has. I thought waiting was just a waste of time. It was something you did when you lacked strength, courage, or motivation to do something. It was only an excuse not to “seize the day.” But, I was wrong.
What I have realized since then is that waiting isn’t empty hoping – it actually has the power to help us create the life we want.
Your mind, or your ego, doesn’t like waiting. In fact, they’re the part of you which screams at you, “Don’t be passive! Do something! Act!” And since our society is ego-driven, you will find many other people who support that message.
But, what many of us fail to realize is that there is timing to all things in life. And more often than not, it isn’t the timing that we want. Because there are things which happen on a subconscious level, both in other people and in ourselves – things that we learn when the time is right. That’s the reason why we need to wait for this deep sense of inner knowing.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that you are certain that everything in your life will turn out the way you plan it and want it, or that you aren’t afraid of failure. But, you simply know it in your heart and in the depths of your being when is the right time to do something.
That’s the reason why you should never waste your time and energy trying to predict what the future has in store for you based only on your fears and hopes.
You shouldn’t waste your time, too, hoping that other people know exactly what you should do to get in life where you want to be. You shouldn’t think that others know what the easiest and fastest way for you is to achieve happiness.
The best way to create the life you want is to take stock of all the things you already know, and most importantly, what you don’t know, and then just WAIT.
But, don’t wait passively – wait actively. That means that when you want to try something new, don’t be afraid to leave your comfort zone and venture into the unknown. And if your intuition is telling you to do something while your mind is screaming at you, “Don’t do it,” listen to your intuition.
Regardless of how afraid you are to try something new and how loudly your mind is telling you not to do so, believe in that deep sense of knowing and wait.
Don’t make hasty decisions. Learn to enjoy the uncertainties in life. Learn to trust your intuition more than your mind. Have faith that you’ll find the answers you’ve been searching for all your life when the time is right.
Give the universe some time to show you the tools and teach you the lessons you need to build a happy, rich, and fulfilling life. Trust that everything will fall into place.
