A few months ago, a stray doggo was found in Ontario, Canada, wrapped around a few black, tiny, kittens in the snow. This lovely creature had spotted them and since the temperatures were freezing cold, she decided to act as their mama and snuggle around them to keep them warm during the night.
Fortunately, after a few hours, a passerby driving in the area spot them and stopped the car.
They carefully picked them up, both the kittens and the lovely doggo, and immediately took them to the Pet and Wildlife Rescue to get checked out.
As soon as they arrived and got examined, it became clear. The caring pup had saved the kittens’ lives.
“It’s truly heartwarming!” a shelter spokesperson said in an interview. “It had been a very cold night so these kittens would have had a very hard time surviving.”
The kittens were alive and well, but they immediately needed treatment since they were infested with worms and fleas. The lovely stray dog who guarded them as if she’s their mama also got taken care of. But what’s even more heartwarming is the fact that this lovely creature had connected with them on another level. As soon as they brought them in together, she insisted on checking how they’re all doing.
It’s still unknown whether the animals were abandoned by a reckless owner or born in the streets. Pet and Wildlife Rescue decided to take care of these lovely animals and shelter them until their owner claims them, or until someone adopts them.
“Our staff sees many difficult situations on a daily basis and stories like this one make every heartache worth it,” the shelter said in an interview.
It’s a truly heartwarming story. We can only hope that both the kittens and the lovely dog will soon find their family.
