It’s scary how this society is constantly pressuring us with finding the right one. It’s even more tragic how most of the people I know believe that being alone is some kind of a problem.
They preach how life is only worthy if you find someone to share it with. They feel terrified to let go of the fear to be alone and live their lives freely.
Well, not me.
First of all, I believe that we all have our right to choose the path we’ll eventually walk on. Each and every one of us has its own journey, its own battle, its own fight.
Second of all, I truly believe that we should all make sure to find time in our lives in order to find ourselves.
You see, sometimes it’s perfectly fine to not have all the answers to your own questions. It’s perfectly fine to make mistakes.
We’re human beings after all, aren’t we?
It’s okay if you want to get lost in order to find yourself. It’s fine if you just want to say “f*ck you” to everything and everyone else around you and just leave. It’s okay if you want to take a different, much more challenging road and be alone with nothing but your inner voice.
Because that’s how you grow.
Sometimes it’s okay if you’ve been alone for a long time, but you still don’t want anyone near you. Whether it’s fear, confusion or just the need to follow your own thoughts and need, it’s all fine. It’s okay if you want to escape the judgment and face your demons on your own. It’s okay if you want to burst into tears until you realize that the only shelter you have is your own loving embrace.
You just make sure to take as much time as you need.
It’s perfectly fine to let yourself be the person you want to be, no matter how people react to it. It’s okay to give up on everything that made your heart weak, and everything that made you doubt your deepest emotions.
In fact, it’s more than okay! It’s something that you need to do for yourself!
Because sometimes, you just have to break your heart with the fact that this world is cruel. It’s a bitter, miserable, deceptive place where hope is rarely found. You just have to accept the fact that you will be more than some people. And of course, you’ll be less than some.
Some of them won’t even bother to understand you. Some of them won’t even care. So, you just have to break your heart with the ugly truth, but also find the way to pick yourself up and glue all the remaining pieces back together.
Sometimes it’s necessary for you to be alone, for that is the only way to listen to what your heart whispers. It is the only way to learn the importance of self-growth and the fact that other people’s actions towards you mean nothing in comparison with your responses to them.
It’s necessary to keep searching for your purpose in this universe. Because as long as you do it with a genuine desire and intention to figure it out, as long as you keep searching for those answers within yourself, you’ll find everything you need to know.
