Taking good care of our respiratory system right now is the most important thing that all of us should do. So, if you are feeling unwell and you have difficulty breathing through your nose, you might be experiencing airway obstruction. This means that your air passage is probably clogged up with mucus. If this is the case, I want you to know that you are not alone.

The virus that we are facing right now does cause inflammation to the lungs and in some cases, the symptoms can be severe. However, it is important to understand that in difficult moments like these, there is no room for panic. The most important thing you can do is educate yourself about this condition and find a way to help yourself.

Now even though many people think that they can’t get sick easily if they catch Coronavirus, no one can know for sure how their bodies might react to this virus until they get infected. The average person’s symptoms may not be severe, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t prepare for it.

Having said this, in addition, I would like to share a very helpful video I came across a few days ago in which two nurses are showing people the correct way to help an infected person get rid of the mucus stuck in their lungs. Have in mind that this is not a cure for coronavirus, but rather a helpful method that will help you keep your airways open and ultimately alleviate your condition.

The main nurse in the video also says that the second most important thing that we can do if we feel the mucus building up while doing chest physiotherapy is drinking a lot of hot water or hot tea. This in addition to the CPT method will help you drain the lungs. And what’s more, you can do it at home with the help of your loved ones.

She also advises that this is really beneficial method that we should consider doing on our children as well. She says that doing it a few times a day can prevent mucus from building up and keep things going.

After that, she shows how to properly do it by patting the back of another person who might be experiencing a mucus build-up. As seen from the video, this a very simple method that we can all do from the comfort of our homes with the help of our family.

I for one I am sure that I will absolutely try it with my partner, even though we are both feeling fine.

Below is the video that I was talking about it. Make sure you check it out and eventually put it into practice. And remember,  we are all in this together. There is no room for panic. The only thing that will help us get out of these difficult times right now is educating and helping ourselves. Stay safe!
