Oh, how I wish that this world was perfect. That instead of buying guns, we’d buy flowers. That instead of destroying our ecosystem, we’d plant thousands and thousands of trees. That instead of being hateful, we’d be empathic. That instead of poverty, every person would be happy.
How I wish I could tell you that our planet is peaceful and caring. That people believe in love and don’t hurt each other. That there is no such thing as heartbreaks because we all respect each other’s differences and feelings. That you shouldn’t be afraid to grow up.
How I wish I could tell you will never have to suffer.
But, I can’t… I can’t because that is not true. And you know it.
The truth is, we live in a dark, cruel, perverted and rotten world. A world driven by money and vengeance. A world filled with frustration, madness, racism, poverty, death, famine, bigotry, hate and greediness. A world that takes away everything from you. A world where one person has a net worth of billions and another has no drinkable water. A world where people don’t hesitate to destroy you in order to achieve their dreams.
A world WITHOUT hope.
Yes, we are its citizens. The people who actually put the foundations for this hopeless world. The ones who are doing everything they can to make it an insufferable place to live in. Well, we are them. The silent killers. But, luckily, not all of them.
That is why I need you to listen to me. I know how bitter your heart is. I know how much it hurts you to see people constantly destroying each other instead of lifting themselves up. I know you think that you are not powerful enough to do something about it.
But the truth is, you are.
Just because this world is cruel and rotten, doesn’t mean that you have to be.
Just because this society is forcing you to become a cold, heartless human being who only cares of themselves, it doesn’t mean that you need to follow that road.
At the end of the day, the change begins with you. If you ever want to see this world flourish and grow, you need to start changing yourself. If you ever want to see bright blue skies, big honest smiles, warm, loving hugs, wise, thoughtful words and green, clean environments you have to start acting, and you have to do it as soon as possible.
But, please. Regardless of how you decide to do it, please don’t let the coldness of this world freeze your heart. Don’t let it take away your hope for a better tomorrow. Don’t allow yourself to succumb to the constant pressure and get tangled up in the endless web of negativity. Don’t let other people’s actions turn you into a bitter and selfish person. Don’t let society’s norms eat away your creativity. Don’t let the general ignorance and indifference take your soul away. Don’t lose yourself.
This world is much more than just that. This same world has a lot of love in its heart. This same world has a lot of compassion. It knows how to forgive. So, it is up to you to help it grow, save it from the ones who wish to destroy it and teach others how important it is that we all do the same.
Stay strong and fight. People like you are the only hope that we have left.
