Ah, friendships. I’ve been thinking about it lately. I always thought it would be an easy part of my life. I’ve lied to myself thinking that the more people (so-called friends) I had in my life, the happier I’d be. But it turned out that only a few of them deserved to be called a true friend. A lifetime companion.
Life is really complicated and won’t always make sense to us. It’s hard to open your heart and let people into your life. It’s really difficult to find those special, tailor-made individuals who’ll possess the key to the Pandora box inside our souls.
It is even harder to be there for a person who won’t be able to recognize your soul. That should be your sign that you need to leave the relationship.
But, for those of you who are blessed to have a few, rare people who understand the language of your souls and know exactly how you feel without even speaking, you are the luckiest people on earth. If you have a person who has always been there for you, through thick and thin, thank them.
For the true power of friendships is not measured in numbers but in love. It’s better to have two or three, kind and pure-hearted people who will never leave your side, no matter how ugly it gets, then to have many people around you who only appear like your friends, but eventually leave when things get though.
The cold-hearted truth is: We’re all alone in life. But, that doesn’t mean we should give up on the idea of having a person who could make our life even more beautiful and fulfilled. You aren’t weak if you ask for help, and it’s not stupid to talk about the same subject over and over with someone who really cares about you. That’s what friends are for, really.
A loving and genuine friend will never judge you and make you feel like something is wrong with you. A real friend will offer to be your crying shoulder and a true friend will do anything in their power to see your bright smile once again. They will remind you of your real strength whenever your spirits are down.
And because of their extraordinary, pure souls, these gems are rare. Real friendship is indeed very hard to find nowadays. So, if you are lucky enough to have met some people whose souls clicked with your soul instantly, you hold on to them. And never, ever let them forget just how much they mean to you.
