It’s okay to feel sad and helpless. It’s okay to have your dreams destroyed. It’s okay to have your heart shattered. It’s okay to feel like your life is falling apart and that you can’t take it anymore.
It’s okay to fall apart.
And instead of thinking of your shattered heart as a defeat, you should perceive it as an invitation to go inside yourself, explore the deepest parts of your soul, and heal.
And as for your romantic relationships, know that it’s fine for things to fall apart because, in this way, you’ll be able to see whether you and your significant other are on the same page. You’ll see whether they feel about you the way you feel about them. You’ll see whether you two are headed in the same direction and want to build a future with each other.
So, if you’re disappointed in love, know that’s okay too. Because love is complex. In some cases, it can be one of the most amazing, enjoyable, and rewarding experiences one can have and the most difficult and painful one in other cases.
Love has different forms. You can never tell what shape love will assume tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year. And if you build walls around your heart or restrict yourself, you’ll cause yourself damage. You’ll shatter your heart by believing in and expecting only one form of love and disregarding any other that comes your way.
You don’t need to wait for love to knock on your door. You don’t need to look for love in distant places. Because love is right here, right now.
Love is you. Yes, you. Love is everything you carry within yourself. It’s everything that surrounds you. It’s everything you experience.
So, before you try to heal your broken heart, make sure you ask it first if it really wishes to be fixed. Because this breaking happens for a greater purpose. It’s sent from the Universe, fate, God, or you name it to destroy old dreams so that new and better ones can appear.
Everything that you go through in life happens for a reason.
Some people are ripped out of your arms so that others who are more compassionate, caring, and loving can enter your life.
You fail to achieve some goals so that you can set and pursue greater and better ones.
You go through difficult times in life so as to feel more, experience more, and be more open to love.
That’s why it’s okay to let yourself fall apart. Because when you allow yourself to fall apart, you learn how to put yourself back together every time life knocks you down. You grow. You become stronger. Wiser. Better.
