The narcissist knows that your love is unconditional. They figured that out from the very beginning because they’ve heard how you were talking about your friends and family with so much love and care. Namely, every time you confront them about something awful they did, they will start apologizing and swearing they did everything out of love for you because they know you are a true believer in unconditional love.

As a person who is incredibly trusting, honest, and compassionate you have trouble setting boundaries. Narcissists immediately see your lack of boundaries and they use it to their advantage. They are drawn to you because they know that you’ll put up with any shit they serve you. They think they can lie to you, cheat on you, manipulate you, gaslight you, and you’ll still stay with them.

Your loving and forgiving nature stops you from giving up on people. You don’t leave the people you love because you don’t have the heart to do so. The narcissists exploit your trait and that’s why you can’t seem to get out from them even if you want to.
