6 Things That I Will Never Apologize To Anyone For

SHARE

I’m not a stubborn person who thinks that I’m always right. When I do something wrong, I will apologize for it. I’ll say sorry if I insult you, if I let you down, or if I bump into you on the street. I’ll even say sorry to someone that I don’t particularly like if I know that I’ve wronged them. The truth is, I’m not afraid to apologize, I just know when I don’t need to.

There are some things that I just don’t feel remorse about, and I’m not going to pretend that I do either. These are 6 things that I will never apologize to anyone for.

1. Following My Dreams

There’s an old Chinese proverb that says, “the person who says that it can’t be done shouldn’t interrupt the person doing it.” I don’t need other people to believe in me, because I already believe in myself. No matter what, I’m going to do everything that I can to achieve success whether people like it or not.

2. Looking After My Own Needs First

It may seem selfish to some people, but I need to put myself first. If I don’t look after me, no one else is going to. So, I need to make sure that I pay attention to my own needs. Most of all, I need to make sure that I’m healthy, happy, and that I have enough time for me. After that, I can be strong enough to look after others too.

3. Challenging Mainstream Ideas

Just because everyone else says it, doesn’t mean that I have to go along with it. I like what I like, and I believe what I believe. No one is going to convince me to follow something just because it’s popular or trending. Despite that, I’m not afraid to like something that’s mainstream either.

4. Being Optimistic

So many people think negatively all the time and don’t realize how much it’s dragging them down. Unlike them, I want to look on the bright side of things. I want to see the best in others and believe that miracles can happen. People might think that that’s naïve, but I don’t care, because I know that being optimistic makes me a happier person.

5. Going After More

I’m happy with who I am and what I have, but that doesn’t mean that I should stop hoping for more. Even when I accomplish all my goals, I’ll still set more for myself. When I’ve traveled to all the places that I wanted to, I’ll add more to the list. Life has so much to offer and I refuse to settle for anything less.

6. Who I Am

Grace Jones once said, “I believe in individuality, that everybody is special, and it’s up to them to find that quality and let it live.” I am who I am, and I always will be. Some people are going to hate me for it and that’s fine because some people are going to love me for it. Most of all, I love myself and I will never be sorry for that.

When it comes to my own life, I’m not going to apologize for the way that I choose to live it. The way that I go about these 6 things doesn’t affect anyone except for me. As long as I’m not hurting anyone, I have nothing to feel sorry for. So, don’t expect an apology from me anytime soon because you won’t be getting one.
