We often wonder about the course of our lives, the purpose of our existence, the reason for meeting certain people in life and their roles in our lives. Some people say that it is all a coincidence in life.
But then there are others who claim that it’s all fate. That everything we’ve experienced, everything we own, everything we’ve become and everyone we’ve met is already predestined in the stars.
These people believe in the concept of destiny. That sooner or later, fate will unravel everything they are meant to experience in life and they will never be powerful enough to change anything about it.
To be honest, I am not a firm believer that life is nothing but a series of events that were predestined to happen to us. I simply refuse to believe that I have no power to change my reality into a life I would enjoy living. I personally think that we hold a much greater power than we can imagine.
That power is already within us. We just have to look deeper.
However, there is a part of me that naively believes that when it comes to meeting a person and falling in love, there is something more to it than just complete randomness.
Call it destiny, fate, luck, whatever you want, but I genuinely believe that every single one of us has a soulmate somewhere out there. In some cases, this soulmate is not one person, but a few people who can arrive in our world as lovers, partners or even friends.
According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Zeus, the almighty god of the sky and thunder was terrified of the power these beings had, so he decided to separate them. By splitting them in half, he condemned these creatures to spend the rest of their lives looking for their other halves.
This is just a myth. But it does trigger a feeling of hope and excitement in us that maybe the person we feel like we know from a past life, is actually a soul that was a part of us a long time ago. I know it sounds crazy.
But I believe that when two people are meant for each other, there’s not a force powerful enough to prevent them from meeting on this amazing journey called life. When two souls are destined to fall in love and be together, life finds a way to create a bridge and connect them.
When two human beings finally meet and find one another after years and years of failed relationships and disappointments, the intensity of their love for each other is stronger than everything else.
They develop a bond as they’ve never had before because deep down it really feels like they’ve known each other from a different time or a different dimension.
It sounds like a beautiful fantasy, but I know for a fact that many people have felt this feeling. I am just one of those fortunate human beings who has found her remaining piece of the puzzle.
After all, I do believe that the universe works in mysterious ways.
And even though sometimes we are too lost to see the signs that life is showing us, they are always around us. It is up to us to open our eyes and notice them.
