Love Requires Hard Work And Patience: You Can’t Walk Away When Things Get Rough

When you’re genuinely in love with someone, you embrace the fact that the relationship won’t always be a smooth journey. You embrace the fact that you and your partner will have to go through tough times. Since no relationship is easy.

Love is never easy. Regardless of how much you and your partner love, care about, and agree with each other, problems and conflicts can begin appearing in your relationship when you least expect it. You can’t avoid them – that is an undeniable fact. However, you can always find a way to handle them.

You can do that if you and your partner are willing to invest significant amounts of time and energy in maintaining and nurturing your relationship. Since you are in this together from the very beginning. Since that is what genuine love is about: patience, self-sacrifice, and understanding; mutual respect and support; willingness to compromise and help each other.

When you love someone, you make sure you’re always there when they need you. When they need your advice, help, and support. When they need your comforting hug and sweet words.

You don’t disappear when you hit the first bump on the road. You don’t run away after the first fight because you can’t stand arguments and all that stress and drama related to it. You don’t run away just because you have different opinions, plans, and goals from your partner and because you sometimes disagree about them.

You don’t leave at the first sign of trouble. You don’t leave when challenges and difficulties start coming your way. Because they’re there to put the love you have for each other to the test. Because it’s through these tough times that you show how much you love and care about each other and whether you have what it takes for a meaningful, deep, and long-lasting relationship.

When you truly love someone, you don’t run away when you’re faced with problems, but you sit with your significant other and talk them out like two mature grownups. You clearly and openly express your opinions about and attitude to the issue at hand. You give your partner a chance to explain their own point of view and tell you how they feel. Both of you lay your cards on the table, there’s no beating about the bush. And then, you try to find ways to solve the problem.

You put in your energy and efforts to fix things between you. You show the willingness to make compromises. You think about what you can do to improve yourselves. You think about what behaviors and habits you need to change or totally get rid of so as to enhance and strengthen your relationship. You don’t let one problem, one obstacle ruin everything you’ve created so far.

You don’t let your arguments destroy your entire relationship. Instead, you allow them to make you a stronger and more resilient couple.

When you’re truly and deeply in love with someone, you fight for their love. And sometimes, if need be, you sacrifice your own happiness for them.

When you love someone, you don’t think about yourself only. You think and care about your partner’s feelings and needs. You don’t make important decisions related to your relationship by yourself. Instead, you ask for their opinion.

When you love someone, you fight with every piece of yourself to protect the relationship. You put up with things which you don’t personally enjoy.

When you love someone, you don’t stay by their side on their good days and walk away from them when they’re sad and disappointed. You don’t allow them to be in pain and suffer alone. Instead, you do your best to help and support them, alleviate their pain, and lift them up.

When you love someone, you don’t think that the relationship is going to fall apart when one thing doesn’t go the way you planned because you both show a willingness and determination to make the necessary changes so as to make things work.

When you love someone, you’re willing to go out of your way for them. You’re ready to walk through fire and fight against every evil just to protect and make them happy.

When you love someone, you don’t give up on the relationship until you have exhausted all ways of saving it.

When you love someone, you don’t leave them by themselves when they’re sick, but you stay by their side. You go to the chemist’s to buy them medicines and take them to the doctor in the middle of the night if need be. Because you’re together in everything – in good and in bad.

When you love someone, you do your best to keep the love and passion between you always alive. You put in time and effort to keep him/her always in your life.

When you love someone, you don’t walk away from them when things get tough because you know you can overcome all problems and obstacles only if you’re together.

Because when you truly love someone, you don’t give up on them without a fight. Instead, you fight for them with every fiber of your being.
