Divorce is probably one of the hardest things that can happen to a person. It leaves you hopeless, weak and alone. It feels like the end of the world because of the past memories that come to your restless mind. Still, there are some tips on how to survive this period of life and stay strong no matter how it hurts.

First thing is to keep everything away that reminds of him. Just take his clothes and throw them away and try not to think of a possible comeback. Most likely, it will never happen and your hopes will fade away as the time goes by. Besides, during this period it’s extremely important to keep everything organized and cleaning up the mess at home will help. After you’ve cleaned your closet, go straight to the kitchen and treat yourself with yummy broiled chicken breast. It does not require much cooking time and they’re easy to make. (1)

Let’s start cooking! Start with preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Take a large bowl and cream some butter and sugar with an electric mixer. Add some vanilla and almond extract for richer taste and stir until smooth. Now, add an egg and beat it in. Take 4 cups of all-purpose flour, some baking powder, salt and stir together until barely combined. The batter is ready and you need to load it in a cookie press and form the shape you want. If you want to sprinkle the cookies you should do it at this stage. Put them in the preheated oven for 12 minutes. Enjoy!

While you eat the cookies with your kids, you may also discuss your future plans and ideas with them. Sharing your thoughts and feelings will help you to recover faster. Also, cooking subway cookies with your children will distract you a little bit.

While your oven is preheating to 350 F, chop some macadamia nuts. Then beat together butter, and brown sugar until well combined. Add an egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and continue beating. Then add, flour, baking soda and some salt and mix until combined. Fold in the macadamia nuts. Roll balls of dough and bake for 10 minutes. Finally, transfer the cookies on a rack. Enjoy!

Organizing your finances may seem a little challenging since you don’t have your husband around anymore. But don’t worry, just do a thorough detailing and plan for ahead. Once you’ve done that, ask your friends to come over and have some nice time together. Don’t forget to prepare this unusual tuxedo cake to surprise them. (2)

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Cook the cake carefully following package directions. Let it cool. Meanwhile, mix vanilla, butter and sugar with cream cheese and make chocolate curls. Cut each layer in half horizontally and spread the frosting between each layer and on the sides. Then microwave the topping and chocolate for a minute. Pour it over the cake and decorate with chocolate curls.

If you want to mourn, it’s okay. Just give yourself some time. But try to accept the thought that the divorce has already happened. Remember to keep in touch with positive and helpful people, too. Avoid those who mock you during this hard time. And remember to keep your head up and hope for the best!
