Dear God,
Thank You for all the goodbyes. Thank You for giving me the courage to end friendships and relationships which weren’t good for me.
Thank You for every time You gave me the strength to let go of people that were only interested in taking advantage of me. People that were good to me only when they needed me to do them a “little” favor. People that didn’t even deserve a second of my attention.
Thank You for all the obstacles. Thank You for making me realize that I can’t control every aspect of my life. Thank You for making me realize that things won’t always turn out the way I want. Thank You for giving me the strength to face every challenge and overcome every temptation, problem, and pain that life has thrown my way. Thank You for guiding me through rough times.
Thank You for all the closed doors. Thank You for preventing me from getting into relationships that weren’t meant for me. Thank You for preventing me from trusting people that were eventually going to betray my trust and break my heart.
Thank You for preventing me from making certain decisions and choices that were eventually going to ruin my happiness. Thank You for never letting me lose myself.
Thank You for every time I was told NO. Thank You for every time someone rejected me and refused to commit to me. Thank You for every time You made me let go of the things that I wanted most since they weren’t meant for me.
Now I know that every time I’m told NO, I’m making space for all the YESs You have in store for me.
Thank You for every time You didn’t answer my prayers. Because You are the one who knows what’s best for me. And I know You’ll never make me deal with more problems and pain than I can handle. I know You’ll never make me fight battles that I can never win. You’ll never make me experience more grief than I can cope with.
I trust You. I trust You since You are the only one that knows my soul and my heart. You are the only one that knows my struggles. You are the only one that knows what I need to experience in life so as to become the person I am supposed to be. You are the only one who will never stop guiding me each step of my life.
