Time is fleeting. It’s one of the things we cannot control. That’s why we need to make the best of it.
Sadly, most people realize some things too late. Things they should have realized a long time ago.
Here are 8 of them.
1. LIVE IN THE MOMENT
Too often we think too much about the past and worry about our future that we forget to appreciate the beauty of the present moment. Because only the present is real. And you have control only on the present moment. So, don’t forget to live in the moment!
2. LIVE FOR YOURSELF
You will regret not following your dreams when you realize that you’ve spent your whole life chasing the wrong ones and trying to live someone else’s life. You only get one life. So, make it about yourself and the things you love.
3. PROCRASTINATION TURNS YOU INTO A SLAVE
When you waste your precious time procrastinating – you become a slave to the past. You get stuck and you can’t get out. So, don’t be lazy and get proactive. Do the things you need to do, the things that are important to you.
4. BE KIND. ALWAYS
Smile at strangers, it doesn’t cost anything, but it can make their day. Help the friend who is struggling. Learn how to give more than you receive. We all need kindness. Being kind can make a difference in the world. It can change someone’s life for the better, and yours too.
5. FAILURES ARE LESSONS IN DISGUISE
Failures are there to teach us the hardest lessons. Even though your mistakes don’t seem like a good thing at the time, they are. They are blessings in disguise and you need to learn to embrace them and learn from them.
6. WORK HARD, BUT NOT TOO HARD
Yes, it is important to chase your dreams and make them happen. Work on your dreams, but don’t forget about your family and friends. Enjoy your free time as well. Appreciate the other things and people in your life besides your work. Don’t miss your child’s basketball game. Don’t forget to take your spouse on a date. Don’t forget to visit your parents as well. These things matter too.
7. SHOW GRATITUDE
Learn to be grateful for all the things in your life. Even the little ones. Instead of focusing on the things you don’t have, focus on the things you do have. That’s the recipe for happiness.
8. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Yes, you may all have heard this phrase, but not many of you put it into practice. This is because we, as humans, tend to believe what we want to believe and so we are prone to falling for someone’s false words if they are what we need to hear. Pay attention and look for the actions. If their actions don’t match their words, they are meaningless.
