The Myers-Briggs personality test is one of the most in-depth and accurate personality tests in the world. By answering a series of questions, it can easily tell you which of 16 different categories that you fit into. To do this, it measures traits such as introversion and extraversion. As well as that, it also uncovers how you make decisions and process information.
Of all the personality types, INFJ is the most uncommon. Its rarity is all due to how complex it is and how contradictory its traits are. If you’d like to find out what makes it so strange, here are 4 things that make the INFJ personality type so mysterious.
1. They’re Laidback, But Still Perfectionists
People with an INFJ personality type are highly intuitive. As a result of that, they know when certain things just aren’t a big deal, which in turn leads them to be extremely easy going. Most of the time, they’re completely calm and relaxed.
On the other hand, these people also have the ‘judging’ personality trait. They have strong values and want things to be done a certain way. Despite their easy-going nature, this can lead them to be perfectionists. As well as that, it can mean that they have a strong need for control.
2. They’re Artistic Yet Rational
These people are highly creative. In fact, they’re often some of the most artistically minded people out there. Some of them are painters, sculptors, or musicians, while others are engineers, writers, or inventors.
However, they’re also extremely critical of their own work. Their rational side can often be a bit over the top which makes them pick holes in everything that they do. Along with that, they can also be afraid that others will judge their creative works too. Because of that, they normally end up with a lot of unfinished projects.
3. They’re Organized, But Also Messy
Since they’re logical and tend to be perfectionists, they’re extremely organized. They love to put things in order and find new, creative ways to organize things. As well as that, they often enjoy making lists and creating detailed plans.
Despite this, their spontaneous nature often gets in the way. Sometimes, they just want to follow their intuition and do something wild. Then, they end up leaving organizing and tidying on the back burner while they do other, more interesting, things.
4. They Love to Be Alone, But Also Love Company
One of the main characteristics of the INFJ personality is introversion. People with this personality type spend a lot of time alone and usually prefer their own company. That’s because their minds are focused on their internal world, not on the external world.
Although it may sound contradictory, these people also need companionship. They have a deep need to connect with others and will often have very close bonds with certain people. Despite how much time they may spend alone, they care deeply about others and are normally very warm towards them.
Having an INFJ personality type isn’t the easiest thing in the world. The traits that people with this personality have are so complex and so different from one another that it can be difficult to keep up with. However, it’s safe to say that these people truly are unique and wonderfully strange. (1)
