1958 Article Shows Dating Has Changed Considerably Over The Years

I’ve often heard people complain about how difficult it is to find a good husband or a good wife these days. Well, 60 years ago, this was apparently way easier … thanks to the popular American women’s magazine McCall’s.

Kim Marx-Kuczynski from Madison, Wisconsin shared a McCall’s article from 1958, entitled “129 Ways to Get a Husband,” showing how much dating has changed over the years.

The publisher asked 16 people to suggest some dating tips single women could use in order to get guys to pay attention to them, and they came up with some original suggestions.

From joining a hiking club and wearing a Band-Aid to becoming a nurse or an airline stewardess and getting a government job overseas, some of these tips seem acceptable and useful, and some seem to be … well, absurd.

Scroll down to read the tips and tell us in the comments section what you think about them!
