12 Things That Will Change When You Start Loving Yourself Instead Of Someone Else

SHARE

I spent far too long disliking myself. It’s not that I hated who I was, it was simply that I didn’t give myself the love that I deserved. Sadly, it took me a long time to realize that my love wasn’t only reserved for other people. Despite that, I understand now. I understand that falling in love with yourself is the only way to be truly happy in life.

Once this finally happens for you, a lot of things about your world are going to transform into something much greater. These are 12 things that will change when you start loving yourself instead of someone else.

1. You’ll Start Doing Instead of Dreaming

Loving yourself means learning to value your time. Likewise, it means understanding that it’s far better to spend that time taking action rather than waiting for things to happen. Instead of hoping and dreaming, you’ll begin to make those dreams a reality.

2. You’ll Start to Appreciate the Little Things

Sometimes in life, we end up putting far too much focus on big things. Because of that, we can end up feeling like the little things in life can never make us truly happy. However, once you learn self-love, you’ll see that that’s not true.

3. You’ll Stop Focusing on the Relationships You Don’t Have

You have friends and family, beautiful people who care about you so much. Although you may have only focused on the relationships you wished you had up until now, you’ll start to fully appreciate who you do have.

4. You’ll Discover What You’re Passionate About

What is life without passion? It may be difficult to uncover what you really care about, but it’s possible. With your newfound love for yourself, you will give yourself the chance to find that out.

5. You’ll Find Happiness in Experiences

No more relying on other people and material possessions to bring you joy. Instead, you’ll be focusing on experiences to make you happy. As a result, you’ll end up with amazing memories that you will carry with you for life.

6. You’ll Realize How Strong You Are

Although it’s a wonderful thing, life isn’t always easy. You’ve been through some difficult challenges but you’ve still made it through them all. Despite overlooking that before, you’re going to start to appreciate how tough you really are.

7. You’ll Value Other’s Advice

Part of self-love is understanding what you don’t know and knowing when to ask for help. With time, you’re going to start to understand just how important someone else’s advice can be.

8. And You’ll Be Happy to Advise Others Too

Just as you need others to help you sometimes, you’ll also need to lend a hand to those people as well. No one can get through life alone so you will be the person who will help the people you care about most.

9. You’ll Realize What’s Really Important

It’s far too easy to get swept up in things that have little importance. You can put too much focus on material items, on societal expectations, and on small setbacks. However, love will make you realize that what’s truly important is your health, your happiness, and the people that you care about.

10. You’ll Start to Prioritize Yourself

It’s good to take care of others, but you can’t do that if you’re not looking after yourself first. You’re going to see very soon that you deserve just as much attention and care as you give to everyone else.

11. You’ll Travel More

Travel is one of the best things that you could ever do for your body, soul, and mind. Whether it’s visiting a new continent or taking a bus to a nearby town, you’ll be ready for any adventure.

12. You’ll Feel Free

There’s a certain sense of relief that occurs once you fall in love with yourself. You let go of all the self-loathing and stress and replace it with something far more beautiful. There’s nothing else in this world that’s as freeing as that.

Loving yourself doesn’t mean that you can’t love anyone else. On the contrary, love has no limits and you can never have too much of it in your world. So please, believe me when I say that you are worthy of your own love. Likewise, you deserve the beautiful changes that come along with it too.
