10 Things Others Don’t Notice You’re Doing Because You’re Getting Out Of A Depressive Phase

You’ve struggled to get a hold of your life. You wasted a lot of time hiding under the cover of your insecurities. You were lost inside the maze your brain created for yourself. You isolated yourself from the world.

You were a victim of depression. You felt what is like to fight your own mind and question your own sanity.

But, luckily, you’ve found your way out of it. You dug your way out of the darkness and saw the tiny glimpse of light. Things are much clearer now.

And now that you’re finally out of there, starting a new chapter, you’ll need a bit more time to adjust yourself.

Here are 10 things no one noticed about you because you’re getting out of a depressive phase:

1. YOU ARE EXTREMELY EMOTIONAL

Everyone may think that you’re just extra cuddly and loving, but the thing is, you’ve experienced the darkest hours of your life.

You need to make sure the people in your life are still there. You need to feel their presence, their touch, their love. After all, you’ve spent a lot of your time isolated from the world.

2. YOU HAVE WEIRD SLEEPING PATTERNS

It’s perfectly normal to have weird sleeping patterns. Depression doesn’t always knock on your door. It usually comes uninvited.

So, even though you’ve found your way out, it takes a lot of time for you to synchronize with yourself. Getting out of a depressive phase is not something you face every day.

3. YOU REALIZE THAT YOU’RE GETTING EASILY IRRITATED

Your moods are not completely stabilized, but that is normal. When you think about it, just yesterday you struggled to get out of your room let the sun shine on you.

So, it is completely natural if things are making you pretty overwhelmed, sad, irritated, anxious or insecure. You need time to recover. Even if the process lasts longer than usual.

4. YOU HAVE A CRAZY APPETITE

One day you may eat like you’ve never seen food before, and then spend the next two days living off crumbs.

It’s hard being a depression sufferer. But, you’re slowly getting out of it. Even if it requires making small, baby steps to get there.

5. YOU BECOME OBSESSED WITH RIDICULOUSLY POSITIVE MOTIVATIONAL POSTS

You desperately need something that will help you accept your inner demons and embrace life as it is. Full of uncertainties and unpredictable events.

So, you try to get back where you once were, by repeating affirmations, following motivational posts, keeping small reminders that life is what you make it.

6. YOU USE MUSIC AS A WAY TO CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS

You are slowly adjusting to the world around you and you use music as a way to lift your spirits up. Whatever your mood is, music can fix it.

7. YOU GO ON A SHOPPING SPREE

Therapy also means getting out of the house and buying things you don’t really need. You need a change in your life, and a change of style might be just the thing for you.

8. YOU HAVE A NEED TO STAY BUSY

Perhaps the best way for you to successfully get out of the maze you were in is to find a way to stay busy. You are determined to maintain a more positive outlook on life.

Whether it’s a new hobby, traveling the world, spending time with the people you love, or just wandering through life, you are ready to do it.

9. YOU AVOID SPENDING YOUR TIME ALONE

However, your insecurities are still here. You need more time spent with real friends to get out of it completely. So, you start going out more and hanging with people instead of isolating yourself in the loneliness of your room.

10. YOU START ORGANIZING YOUR MESS

Once you start to feel a bit better, you are ready to deal with all the mess, the one inside of you and the one surrounding you.

So, you start by organizing your world. Even if it means rearranging your room or washing the dishes, it is still a fresh start. The first step is the most important.
