What you think, you become.
What you feel, you attract.
What you imagine, you create.
We know this, right? We’ve always known it. The mind is our greatest weapon, bla, bla. Your thoughts are so much more powerful than you can imagine. Yes, we’ve all heard this. But the sad truth is, at some point in our lives, we’ve also pretended to live that reality.
I know a lot of people who never had the time to reflect on themselves. To stop doing what they’re doing and focus on their lives. To give themselves a break from the everyday chaos and ask themselves how they really feel. To be honest for once…
The reality is, there are a lot of individuals who refuse to work on themselves. People who refuse to look beyond what they see and know. And as a result, we have more and more insecure and discouraged people. Look around you, and you’ll notice what I am talking about.
People would rather focus on whining about their weaknesses than celebrate their strengths. They would rather look at the negative than focus on the brighter side of life.
I am not exactly sure why it is always easier for us to see our flaws before our strengths. I am guessing that in some(most) cases, it has a lot to do with the environment we’ve been raised in. The way our parents treated us. The values they taught us or didn’t. Their own beliefs, their opinions, their insecurities. Their own pain and their own fears that they’ve passed onto us. Add to that some peer pressure and this toxic society that we live in and voila… You have insecure, terrified, and mentally exhausted human beings.
Luckily, we have the power to change that. And when I mean we, I mean all of us. Each and every single one of you out there. We may not realize it, but most of the time, the only person standing in our way is us. We are the ones who shape our lives. The ones that create the reality we live. Each and everything we choose to consume, to make a part of our life, to absorb, to obsess about, ultimately changes us.
So, when we feed ourselves toxicity and negativity, eventually we become that person. On the other hand, when we feed ourselves positivity and, our outlook on life automatically shifts and becomes more optimistic.
To put it shortly… the quality of our lives is determined by our own choices. Nothing more, nothing less. And by choices, I mean literally everything. What we believe in, what we think, who we hang out with, what we follow, what we wish for, what we consume, whether literally or metaphorically. We all choose these things consciously.
The good thing, as I said is that you can always choose differently. You can choose to look at life through different lenses. And you can choose to change your own perceptions about yourself and ultimately better your life. You can choose to love yourself.
You just have to want to do it. And I mean, really want to do it. You have to be strong enough to let go of your self-limiting beliefs and reach towards your real protentional. You have to be brave enough to stand up for yourself and believe in who you are, no matter what society or others made you think. You have to allow yourself to make mistakes and engage in experiments that will help you find who you truly are. But most importantly, you have to be patient. For nothing good comes easy.
In the end, always remember that you are much worthy than you can imagine. You were born an original work of art. No one is you. That is your greatest strength.
