I’ve said it a thousand times, and I will say it a million more over again.
Communication is at the base of every good relationship. It’s like a good foundation before you start building your own house. The more rigid and strong the base is, the greater the chances that your house will outlive you.
Therefore, the more open and transparent communication the relationship has, the bigger the chances the relationship will succeed.
There are certain things that should always be in the open if you want your relationship to thrive. A person cannot become your forever soulmate if you haven’t freely discussed these 13 things:
1. WHEN YOU’RE FEELING UPSET
The person you’re with should be there to listen to you when you’re feeling upset. Your forever person would never laugh at you for being overly emotional. Instead, he would make you feel comfortable enough to share all of your secrets and struggles with them.
2. WHEN YOU’RE HAVING YOUR PERIOD
It sounds silly, but there are still women who are too afraid to talk about real stuff with their boyfriends. Periods are real. And, yeah, they’re a real bloodbath (pun intended), but if that is too much for a guy to handle, then sorry to inform you, but he needs time to grow up.
3. YOUR EX-BOYFRIENDS
The past is important. And by that, I don’t mean getting inside a dangerous territory of obsessing about your ex, but rather a polite conversation about your previous experiences. After all, every person before them played a big part in shaping you into the person you are now.
4. THE FACT THAT THEY TURN YOU ON
Stop waiting for him to imitate sex. Free yourself from all the inhibitions and let yourself enjoy each other. You cannot possibly connect with your special someone if you don’t give in to the temptation.
5. THE THINGS YOU EXPECT FROM THE FUTURE
You shouldn’t assume that you’re both on the same page, because that’s how expectations are born, and disappointments are made. He cannot be your forever person if you don’t free yourself and share your intentions with them.
6. THE FACT THAT YOUR EXPERIENCING PAIN DURING SEX
You shouldn’t stay silent about this. If there’s something he doesn’t do right, you should feel free to let him know. After all, he deserves to know. Sex is an important act, and it is supposed to make you reach ecstasy, not cause you stress.
7. ALL OF YOUR EMBARRASSING MOMENTS IN LIFE
Well, this you can avoid. Just kidding. You shouldn’t be afraid to share some of the goofiest, funniest, embarrassing moments with your forever person. After all, they’re supposed to be the person who makes you feel comfortable enough to get out of the closet.
8. THE WAY YOU LIKE TO SPEND YOUR MONEY
If you plan on spending your life together, it is vital for the both of you to share your usual habits about managing your income. Money is an important issue. It might be uncomfortable to talk about, but, if this is the person you want to be with, this is one of the things you shouldn’t feel awkward to talk about.
9. YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT RELIGION
Look, faith can be everything to some people, and nothing to others. If your partner is religious, but you’re not, you have to find a way to meet your needs halfway.
10. THE WAY YOU FEEL ABOUT HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Do you feel like you can’t stand his mother? Or are you maybe feeling uncomfortable around his father, but you’re too afraid to say anything to your partner?
Well, I’m not suggesting you say that you should tell him that you hate them, but just to let your partner know that you feel a bit unpleasant around them. Try to be polite and kind, otherwise, they might get the wrong impression.
11. EVERYTHING YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE IN BED
I said it before, and I’ll say it again, sex is a very important part of the relationship. If you’re too scared to open up about your turn-ons and turn-offs with him, then maybe you’re stuck with the wrong partner.
12. ALL THE RIDICULOUS CELEBRITY CRUSHES YOU HAD
You shouldn’t be embarrassed to share all of you past celebrity crushes with your partner. It would be fun because you could share a laugh and make fun of each other’s silly choices.
13. THE WAY YOU FEEL ABOUT HIM
But, most importantly, you shouldn’t be afraid to let him know how you feel about him. Do you love him more than words can say? Then show it to him.
Do you sometimes get annoyed by their actions? Then, let them know. Whatever you feel you should feel free to share with him. He’s never going to know that unless you reveal your true colors.
At the end of the day, he’ll never be your forever person if you don’t dare to talk these things through.
