When She Tells You She’s Exhausted, Stop Everything And Be There For Her

She may look tough, but deep inside she has a soft, fragile heart that desperately needs to be held and embraced. She may tell you that she’s fine, but her soul is weary. She may seem like she has everything under control, but that look in her eyes will tell you otherwise…

So, when she tells you that she’s exhausted, stop everything and be there for her.

Because even though you may not always see it, she needs you.

Maybe she needs someone else to take care of the children for the day and she hates herself for not having the strength to do it on her own.

Maybe she needs you to finish the job around the house.

Maybe she just needs a nap.

Or maybe she just needs to be held for a moment. Reminded that she’s much stronger than this. Told that even a kick-ass, hardworking and loving mom like her can have a bad day and feel miserable. Embraced the way she’s never been embraced. Loved in the purest, most innocent, most unconditional way…

Whatever it is, know that she needs you. Your presence. Your advice. Your hugs. Your support. Your appreciation. Your empathy. Your understanding.

Every single part of you.

So, please. Be there.

When she tells you that she can’t do it, be there for her and give her the strength to carry on.

When she tells you that life is too hard on her, hold her tight and remind her of how much she’s been through.

When she tells you that she’s exhausted, stop everything that you’re doing and focus on her.

When she comes to you with her eyes full of tears, wipe her cheeks and hug her like there’s no tomorrow.

When she lies next to you and puts her weary head on your arm, tuck her in and cuddle her until she falls asleep.

When she seems like she’s had it all and she’s on the verge of freaking out, sit down and talk to her about the things that bother her mind.

Whatever you do, just be there. Even if it means holding her hand while she sleeps, or talking to her, or simply finding a way to help her. Be there. Do your best to let her know that she can always count on you.

For she’s your wife. She’s the one who has vowed to stay by your side until death pulls you apart. She’s the one who swore to be there for you in good and in bad.

Only you and you alone know her love language.

Pay attention to her actions and her words. For they’re not always loud. Sometimes they’re whispers. Desperate cries for help. The only way for you to notice them is to just stop for a second and listen…
