It is true what they say. Hard times reveal real friends. You just have to open your eyes and pay attention to the people who surround you.
The people who laugh when you are laughing and share your sadness when you’re suffering are undoubtedly the ones who deserve a special place in your heart.
The truth is, as women we do our best to always stay on top of things and buzz our way through life by trying to accomplish a million tasks in just 24 hours. We get so used to our organized chaos that we don’t notice when our body, spirit, and mind give us the signals that it’s time to rest. Our busy lives become our everyday routine, and we forget to take care of ourselves.
Until one day, something serious happens to us and force us to finally take that time out. These moments create sudden breaks in our routine, disrupt our balance in life and cause our emotional vertigo to set in.
This happened to me a few months ago after a health issue that I thought I had under control resulted in surgery and put me in bed for 5 long weeks. As the first day went by, I thought I was going to lose my mind.
But then, something wonderful happened. My friends started showing up, showering me with love and attention. They wrote messages, sent cards, mailed me funny videos, showed support and encouraged me in many ways. And not only my close circle of friends, but also people that I’ve never met in my life. Women that I’ve met online and shared many interests with.
All of these angels came to visit me, give me love and show me that no matter how busy and fast-paced their life is, they are always there to give me a hand. Their presence in my life during those five hardest weeks of my life made me realize that I am not alone. The love that they unconditionally shared with me lifted me up and for a moment, made me forget about my struggle. Every single one of them found a unique way to pull me out of that dark place that I was in and make a difference in my life by simply knowing my heart.
This is why it is so important to have rally girls in your life.
Because without them, life wouldn’t make sense. Without the encouragement and support from our fellow women in life, we wouldn’t make it. We wouldn’t have the strength and the courage to face life and say I CAN DO IT.
I am not only lucky to have mines… I am thankful beyond words.
True friends are like diamonds. They are precious, real and very rare.
If you’ve been lucky to find them, hold them close to you and when the time comes, be there for them the same way they were there for you when you couldn’t find the strength to move forward on your own.
