This goes to the friends I’ll grow old with. The people who have showed me what real friendship looks like. The people who have made my life better. And for that I’ll always be grateful to you.
The list of things for which I’m grateful to you is pretty long. And I honestly don’t know how I can thank enough someone who has shaped the person I’m today.
Anyway, I’ve got to start from somewhere.
First of all, thank you for choosing me. Thank you for being a part of my life.
Thank you for accepting me for who I am. For accepting me with all my faults, quirks, whims, and fears. For never trying to change me. For always showing understanding of my problems.
Thank you for staying by my side and never letting me down. For unselfishly giving me your help and support when I needed them the most. For lifting me up when I was at my lowest. For being my crying shoulder and greatest cheerleader. For always knowing what to say to cheer me up when I was down in the dumps. For helping me overcome my fears and problems. For being full of understanding and patient with me.
Thank you for believing in me and always reminding me of my worth. For telling me how smart, strong, and capable I am. For motivating me to pursue my highest goals and wildest dreams. For encouraging me to strive for more. For boosting my self – confidence.
Thank you for reminding me where I’ve been and pushing me to where I want to go.
Thank you for seeing the best in me, even at times when I can’t see it myself.
Thank you for celebrating my accomplishments and being proud of me.
Thank you for always being honest with me. For telling me the truth no matter how painful and cruel it is. For never withholding things from me. For being loyal to me and never breaking my trust in you.
Thank you for reminding me of my bad sides.
Thank you for pointing out my mistakes but never judging me for them.
Thank you for making me laugh even when I saw no reason to smile. For showing me what genuine happiness feels like.
Thank you for teaching me other types of joy –types I’ve never known that existed before. The joy that comes from knowing that you’re always understood; that there are others who have the same flaws, insecurities, and fears you do; that you’ll always have someone to turn to when you feel down and when everyone else leaves you; that you’re not alone.
Thank you for helping me make the right decisions and respecting my choices.
Thank you for putting up with me all those times I was cranky and acted childishly.
Thank you for treating me with kindness and compassion.
Thank you for challenging me to be better and think better. Thank you for inspiring me to become a better version of myself.
Thank you for forgiving me when I hurt you. I know I’ve let you down many times. I told you things I didn’t mean. But, you never held a grudge against me because you knew that I’d never hurt you on purpose.
Thank you for loving me unconditionally and always being here for me.
Thank you for making my life better.
