How often you get to meet your musical idols, let alone get invited to join them on a stage for a duet?
The international superstar Celine Dion has made the dream of one Philippine girl a reality. Namely, Celine invited the 16-year-old aspiring singer Charice Pempengco on stage with her to perform a song. She introduced this girl, saying:
“I had a chance to see Charice perform one of my songs in Oprah last week. I have a little difficulty to talk right now because I met Charice and I’m so emotional and so I’m searching and looking for my words trying to control my emotion. I invited her to come here tonight to sing with me.”
They both sang the song “Because You Loved Me” and dedicated it to Charice’s mom who was in the audience. Celine said that the lovely girl has a voice that can “literally blow the roof off Madison Square.”
It must have been a heartwarming moment for the mother of Charice, hearing her sing “For all those times you stood by me; For all the truth that you made me see; For all the joy you brought to my life; For all the wrong that you made right…”
Charice connected with the audience perfectly, letting the emotions overflow her and it showed in her voice.
Celine discovered this girl thanks to Oprah. Oprah watched a video on Youtube and then invited her on her show. Then, she introduced her to Celine because she thought that she is “the most talented girl in the world” and it was her dream to sing with Celine someday.
It is a wonderful thing to see a dream coming true on stage and all the sincere emotions coming out.
