Relationships Are Worth Fighting, But Not If You Do It On Your Own

relationship one sided

7 telltale signs that your relationship is one-sided:

1. You don’t feel comfortable enough to open up to them. You don’t feel like they would understand you. You’ve tried too many times, but never got the feedback you always needed. Never got the support you craved from them. Never got the love you needed. So, you keep it to yourself. All of your thoughts, dreams, feelings, ideas, opinions, fears…

2. You constantly change your plans in order to fit into their world. You even change yourself. You’ve changed your entire life trying to get them to accept you. And somehow you are still there where you started. There is no progress, no nothing. No matter how much you seem to give to this person, they never give anything back. It’s exhausting and disappointing.

3. You are always apologizing for things you didn’t do thinking that them more submissive you are to them, the more they will respect you. You are not helping yourself this way. Nor you are helping the relationship get better. You are only putting yourself in an undesirable situation. You are slowly becoming the victim and they are slowly getting used to treating you however they like.

4. You know that the bond you two share is not strong enough for it to last. You can feel it in your heart. Because, no matter how much you deny it and pretend that everything is fine, the reality is quite different. You are not on the same page. And it’s about time you finally acknowledged that fact.

5. Yet, you feel like you cannot leave because you’ve given a lot of effort. You are on an emotional rollercoaster. You convince yourself that you can make it, but deep down your heart no longer feels the way you want it to feel. An yet, something inside of you make you think that can’t do anything about that. That you cannot leave because you’ve already put in so much effort…

6. You cannot see a future together. You try to envision it, but for some reason, you cannot imagine yourself spending your entire life together. What you have is simply not enough to make that happen… There are missing pieces of your puzzle. Pieces that no matter how much you search for, you will never find…

7. You are emotionally drained. You are tired of trying and you no longer feel like your efforts make any change. Because you are alone. You are fighting on your own. You are fighting for something that is not meant to happen… Let go of it.
