You can have both a mouse and a spider as pets – but there’s an enormous difference between having a pet and having a pest in the house.
From cobwebs and a slew of potentially dangerous side effects (especially if accidentally ingested by humans or animals) that spiders bring to the risky diseases and damage that mice are famous of, it’s best that they just stay away from our homes.
There are many different products for keeping these pests away from your house, such as poisons, traps, glues, and sprays – but most of these products can be just as dangerous to have around the house as the pests themselves, not to mention the extra money you need to spend.
However, there is a natural alternative which is sure to keep these pests away from your home. It’s peppermint.
Brewing a cup of peppermint tea and leaving the tea bag in the places where you suspect spiders and mice to be lurking has been shown as a very effective repellent. It’s most effective if you put the tea bags in each corner.
And if you don’t think that tea bags are something you’d deal with, you can achieve the same results with some essential oil. All you need to do is put 10-15 drops of peppermint oil in a spray bottle full of water and spray it around the baseboards.
Not only will it act as an excellent spider and mouse repellent, but it will also make your home smell amazing.
Another helpful solution against spiders is cinnamon and lemon oil.
However, you should be aware that peppermint is most effective for preventing mice from coming into your home – rather than chasing them away if they’re already there.
Are you using peppermint as a spider and mouse repellent? Would you try it out?
