Friendship Requires Effort. You Should Be The Friend You Want To Have

True friendship doesn’t happen overnight. Friendships, just like flowers, need their time to blossom. So, first, you must plant the seed and then wait for it to turn into a beautiful and mesmerizing flower.

You must invest in friendships with your time and effort. You must be there for your friends. You need to show up when they need you. You need to love them and be the kind of friend you always wanted to have.

Text them frequently. Be in touch. Call them to hear their voice and ask them how their day went. Buy them little presents that reminded you of them. Ask them out to talk and catch up. Ask them if they are doing okay and then really listen. Be there for them. Support them. Love them. Cherish them.

Be someone who expresses their feelings. Tell them you miss them, and you can’t wait to see them. Motivate them when they have hit a rough patch. Be there to support them and offer them help and a friendly ear. Be a positive friend who is always there to cheer them up. Be someone who can compromise and looks for solutions whenever a problem arises between you.

Be a friend that sticks up through thick and thin. Someone who cares deeply about their friend and wants the best for them.

Be the friend who never leaves them alone when they are struggling. The one who is always there for them to hold their hand and be their shoulder to cry when they are feeling sad, anxious, or depressed. Help them heal through the pain. Because a true friend is someone who never leaves their friends during hard times.

Friendship Requires Effort. You Should Be The Friend You Want To Have

Be a friend who fights for your connections, fights for your friends and doesn’t give up on them.

And most importantly, don’t wait for a friend like this to show up in your life without first making yourself that kind of friend. You must become the friend you want to have first and then you’ll attract same-minded people who will stick with you and your bond will be strong and unshakeable.

Because truly extraordinary friendships consist of two people who have decided to be extraordinary friends.

Of course, you will happen to meet people who will break your heart and won’t deserve your loyalty and friendship. Sometimes, you will not get what you want regardless of how much you give to others. There will be times when your effort will be for nothing and you will feel betrayed and hopeless. But this shouldn’t stop you from keep looking for what you want. Walk away from people who don’t appreciate you and keep looking for the ones who will.

At the end of the day, we live in a very lonely world. We have become strangers to one another, including ourselves. We isolate more and more from the world. But we can always change that if we are willing to try.

So, do it. Be the kind of person and friend you would like to have, and you will attract just that.

Because remember truly extraordinary friendships consist of two people who have decided to be extraordinary friends.
