The day that you marry the person of your dreams is something that many of us look forward to for our entire lives. We can hope that it will be a day that’s akin to something out of a fairytale. Sadly, however, that’s not always the case. Although most weddings do end in a “happily ever after,” many of them end in heartbreak.
Unfortunately, that was exactly the case for one woman. What was meant to be the happiest day of her life went completely awry when she found out some terrible news. Then, this bride-to-be read her cheating fiancé’s texts instead of her wedding vows.
The Night Before Her Wedding
Like most future brides, this woman spent her last night as an unwed woman with her friends. They spent the evening in a glamorous hotel room, drinking champagne and enjoying her last single night. Understandably, she was excited. Likewise, many of the people in her life were excited for her too, and she received countless texts showing love and support.
However, in the midst of the many messages that she received, one of them was unlike the rest. On her phone lay a text from an unknown number which said, “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?” Below it was screenshots from conversations between her fiancé and another woman, along with selfies of the pair.
The screenshots that she saw sent her into a state of shock. They exchange that her husband-to-be and his mistress had included things like “This weekend. You and I. It is on, hot stuff. Bring your A game.”
An even more vulgar message said “Your body is fucking incredible. And shit do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”
To Marry or Not to Marry?
Her friends were equally as disgusted as she was. They told her that she needed to call off the wedding and they even threatened to hurt him. Despite the pain that this unfortunate woman felt, however, she didn’t want to call it off. She loved him and she still wanted to marry him. So, she didn’t even call her fiancé to tell him that she knew about his affair.
Although she had decided to go through with the wedding, she still couldn’t sleep that night. The messages that she had read buzzed inside her mind, keeping her wide awake. All she could do was think.
That’s when she decided that she wouldn’t marry him, but she would still meet him at the altar.
The Final Blow
As she made her way down the aisle as planned, she felt as if she was simply putting on a show. Her wedding dress felt like a costume and her guests seemed like nothing more than an audience. Still, no one suspected a thing, not even her cheating partner.
Once she reached the altar, she announced “There will be no wedding today. It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”
Her now ex-fiancé’s smile dropped from his face as he did his best to grab onto her hands. That’s when she took out her phone and began reading the cheating messages. By the end of it, he could do nothing but walk out of the church like the vile, pathetic man that he was.
Although the wedding was over, this woman decided to make the best of the event. She urged her guests to stay and turned it into a party that celebrated “honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts.”
No one wants to find out that the person they plan on marrying has been having an affair behind their back. Even worse than that, however, is finding that out the night before the wedding. Although that may have been this woman’s fate, she still made the best of it. Likewise, she got to shame her lying ex in the best way possible.
