Ask Mary Wright: How Can I Relax And Not Worry About Making The Wrong Decision While Trusting The Process?

SHARE

QUESTION: “I’m struggling to make the right decision. I’m not sure what the right decision is and that makes me afraid to make any decisions! I know that every decision big or small creates my reality tomorrow so I can’t take it lightly. How do I not stress myself out? How do you relax and trust that everything will happen in its own timing and will be the right thing? I mean I can’t just pretend I don’t have this knot in my stomach…”

Mary Wright: Dear S,

I know how you feel. I’ve been there. First of all, thank you for your response and I am glad my article touched you.

Trust is an art, something that you must practice to make it a habit, especially in moments when you feel devastated and things are just not happening the way you want them to.

From my experience, I learned that letting go of control is one of the most empowering and liberating experiences. Learning to trust the process and the universe is important. Remember, when one door closes, another one opens. That’s how it is. That’s how the universe works. Therefore, your dream partner, job, and everything you’ve wanted will come to you when you are ready and when you free yourself from negative thinking.

I know this may sound cliché but it’s true. It happened to me. So, here’s my advice on how you can let go of your fears and start trusting the process:

Embrace helplessness. Cherish the moments of powerlessness and helplessness because those moments are full of potential. When you are at your worst, feeling desperate – that’s when your true potential shines the brightest because you are the most vulnerable during that moment since you have surrendered everything to the Universe, God, or what you believe in. The moment when you tell yourself that you don’t have power over that situation, and you are not strong enough to face that challenge alone is the moment when you let go of the victim mentality and allow change to happen naturally.

Release the things over which you don’t have control. Let go of your desire to control the things you can’t change. The only truth is that we can’t plan a future when we can’t know for sure what will happen in the next 10 minutes. Life is pretty random, and everything is ever-changing. When you really let this sink in, you’ll start feeling much more relaxed.

Listen to your intuition. Your intuition is your most powerful asset. Always trust it. It is your inner guidance towards the right path and the right decisions. You can connect more with your inner self and your intuition by practicing meditation. Your inner guidance is linked to your soul and to the Universe. Listen to it.

Know that everything around you is filled with grace. Every person that you meet has struggles of their own. Everyone is suffering. But, the focus on the negative aspects of your decisions can increase your control issues and drive you crazy. Instead, try to focus only on the good around you. Perception is everything. You can find beauty and grace in the air around you, in your family and friends, and everything you have in your life. You can find blessings in anything, and good can come out of everything you decide if you choose to see it as such. Always be grateful.

And finally, tune yourself into love. Love is the force that keeps this world moving. Love is your connection to the Universe. Love is helping one another. Love is being grateful. Love is caring. Love is sharing. When you are love, you attract more love and beauty into your life, and you make better decisions. You feel at peace with yourself.

I really hope that this will help you and make you feel more relaxed.

Love,

Mary.
