As a child, Inspector Gadget was one of my favorite shows. I was completely amazed at how he could turn one gadget into another, as well as hiding them in plain sight. It was an ability that I always wanted but thought was completely impossible.
Well, I was wrong. It’s 2019 now and nothing is impossible. If you want to, you can even turn your bicycle into a water boat.
That’s right, a new invention lets you transform a bike into a boat.
It’s called the Shuttle Bike and its kit was designed by Roberto Siviero. Along with an engineering team, he saw his creation come to life.
The kit is made up of yellow, airtight floats which are made from a combination of nylon and plastic. These floats can then be inflated with the help of a special bike pedal which forces air into the floats. All you need to do to get your bicycle up and running on them is to attach a rudder to the front wheel.
This new device can set you back about $1,300, depending on which type of package you opt for.
If you have the cash to spend on it, you’ll also need to be in Italy. Right now, the only place that the Shuttle Bike is available is in Venice since its canals are perfect for testing.
