Relationships Are About The Miles Spent Together, No Matter How Complicated Things Get

Love is an awakening. It’s a dilemma. It’s pain. It’s an unfinished poem.

To love someone, you don’t have to know everything about them. You just love them. Despite the heavy storms of disagreement. Despite the differences.

That’s how I love you.

I love you despite the fact that you make fun of the way I put my socks on and how I am bad at directions.

I love you despite our fights and despite your messy haircut.

I love you despite your putting 6 spoons of sugar in your coffee and despite your morning laziness.

I’ll always choose you because you want to spend the day with me even though I am mad at you and I called you names.

I’ll choose you because you make the best pancakes in the world and I’ll choose you repeatedly because you overcook every meal and you don’t get mad when I make jokes about that.

Relationships are not easy. I know that. Love is not easy.

At times, love is putting your hands in an electric socket and expecting nothing bad to happen.

Love is a risk. Relationships are too, but I guess you have to fight to make it work.

It will not be smooth and easy, on the contrary, it will be rough and unpredictable, but if you want to make it work – you will. You just need to compromise.

Love is all the because I love you moments, but relationships are all the I love you despite moments, and there is a reason for that. It’s why relationships last, not why they begin.

It’s why you choose to fight, it’s that moment beyond your ego and pride; that other step that makes you feel like you are hanging off a cliff.

Relationships are about thousands of miles spent together, no matter how complicated things get.

They are about making the same choice no matter the circumstances, no matter what the future holds.
