There is one lesson that you’ve probably never heard, but it is very important and one of the hardest you’ll ever have to learn. It’s a lesson that you need to hear when you fall in love for the first time.
It’s a lesson that one doesn’t get to learn until they’ve experienced a great heartbreak. A lesson that you get to experience the first time someone tells you that they don’t love you anymore.
It is the most heartbreaking and cruel lesson than any human being will have to go through at some point in their life.
There will be people who will come along and make you feel like you’ve never felt before. They will make you feel like you are the center of their universe. Their grand romantic gestures will be something you’ll hold on to for dear life.
However, something will switch, and they’ll begin showing their true intentions. They’ll start acting selfishly. They’ll take you for granted. They’ll find your vulnerability as a weakness and they’ll use it against you to violate and break your heart. Why? Because they feel empowered by doing so.
They’ll crash your world in a matter of seconds without a second thought. This person will hurt you and break your heart the moment you’ll hear the dreaded words – “I don’t love you anymore.”
Once you hear those words, you’ll see them in a completely different light – from the once most loving and caring person on the planet, they’ll turn into the coldest and harshest person on earth. The warm feelings will turn into painful burning sensations in your eyes.
You will feel crushed and devastated. Your whole universe will collapse, and you’ll never be the same.
They may beg for your forgiveness, and you’ll take them back, still believing in the power of love, naively hoping that they have changed. That the love has done its magic and made them realize that you’re the one. You’ll invite them back in your life only because you don’t want to feel unloved.
And that’s how you’ll learn.
You’ll learn how to protect your heart next time. You’ll learn how to pick yourself up and believe in love again.
Because you deserve true love. You deserve a whole universe. You deserve someone who is sure of themselves and their love for you.
So, get sad. Get mad. Get your heart broken. But learn the lesson. Don’t forget about it.
And you’ll find love. I promise.
