Don’t you ever feel like you are trapped inside a vicious cycle and you just keep running and running in a circle without ever questioning the never-ending opportunities life gives you?
If you ask me, I believe that as human beings we tend to easily forget the true meaning of our existence. We let ourselves get easily distracted by the basic, mediocre and safe life we choose for us, that we fail to remember the crucial importance of life’s essential truths.
Lessons that we’ve all heard of yet chose to overlook. Here are 8 obvious truths in life you need to remember:
1. LIFE IS SHORT
The ultimate cliché in the book, but also the biggest truth ever told. We are born, we live, and then we die. That’s the life cycle that we all eventually experience. It’s completely out of our control. The only thing you can do about it is learning how to enjoy this magical moment that is occurring right now.
So, live your life to the fullest. Don’t let the past or the future take over your life. The only thing you have right now is the present moment. Embrace it, cherish it, and make the best of it!
2. YOU’LL LIVE THE LIFE YOU’VE CREATED FOR YOURSELF
Because your life means your rules. Other people can say what they want to say, but in the end, it’s up to you to decide whether you’ll walk the journey and work even harder for the things you love.
Remember: No one can take away the things you nurture inside of you.
3. BEING EXTREMELY BUSY DOESN’T MEAN BEING PRODUCTIVE
News flash! If you constantly run around town, fulfilling all sorts of crazy duties, that doesn’t mean that you are productive.
Busyness is not really a quality that should be admired. And when you think about it, we are all busy. Whether it’s work, family, hobbies or whatnot, we are always on the go.
However, the true mark of a genuine person is in its ability to maintain a nicely organized and well-focused lifestyle.
4. FAILURE IS JUST ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO SUCCESS
I know that most of us out there are terrified of failing. I know I was back then. However, you need to understand that failure is not the end of the world. Failure doesn’t mean that you are incapable or stupid.
Mistakes are parts of our lives because they are designed to show us the way. They are designed to make us stronger and more resilient. You shouldn’t be afraid to fail. Instead, you should always have your back and motivate yourself to keep going forward.
Even if you’ve failed hundreds of times.
5. THINKING AND DOING ARE TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS
You can’t just sit, think and expect the things to be done without your effort. If you plan on starting something new, taking action is the only effective way to achieve anything.
You can sit and think about the concept and the idea behind it, but once you’re done, you take matters into your own hands and start realizing your ideas.
6. YOU ARE NOT THE THINGS YOU OWN
The material world within your reach does not define you. You are not the things you own, the things you wear, or the things you buy.
This fact is something we tend to overlook a lot, especially in this consumer-driven, greedy society that celebrates the superficial and looks down on peculiarity.
You are everything you’ve ever dreamt of. You are unique. You are your deepest thoughts and desires. You are your insecurities. You are your remarkable flaws and crazy quirks. You are everything that makes you happy or sad. You are your hopes. Your fears. Your plans.
7. SELF-CARE AND SELF-LOVE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELF
Listen, I know it is important to be kind and generous to other human beings. Solidarity is a trait we desperately need to preserve in order to stay alive.
But, self-care is something that should always come first. If you don’t respect your needs and love your peculiar flaws, nobody will.
Don’t let others define you. Be aware of your self-worth. Accept and love your flaws.
8. CHANGES ARE INEVITABLE PART OF GROWING
No matter how scary it sounds, life doesn’t stop for anyone. Things come and go. What we experienced today, may turn out completely different tomorrow. The feelings we had yesterday may not be the same as our feelings today.
Changes are inevitable. They sometimes strike when they are least expected, but in the long run, changes are incredible segments of our lives. Because they help us grow. They shape us and make us an even better person than yesterday.
Remember: The bad news is – nothing lasts forever. The good news is – nothing lasts forever.
