21 Fundamental Things You Should Start Doing For Yourself

Have you ever felt like you’re in a constant rush, yet there’s something that is constantly missing?

Well, I certainly have, and it is about time to do something about it. Just yesterday I finished one amazing book. And I realized that something.

While we desperately search for the perfect timing, perfect moment, or the perfect inspiration to finally get up and do something, the clock is ticking, and time is running out.

We’re so lost waiting for that perfect scenario, those optimal circumstances for taking action that we forget to live in the NOW.

So, inspired by recent events I decided to do a list of all the essential things we must start doing for ourselves in order to reconnect with our being and find the purpose for our existence:

1. START SPENDING YOUR TIME ON BEAUTIFUL AND GENUINE PEOPLE

Don’t waste your energy on human beings who don’t even deserve your attention. Instead focus on engaging in healthy relationships, socialize with genuine people. People who make you feel alive and help you grow even higher.

2. START BEING COMPLETELY HONEST WITH YOURSELF

Don’t be afraid to admit when something is wrong. It is only through a sincere communication with yourself that you’ll be able to finally understand your deepest secrets.

3. START SOLVING YOUR OWN PROBLEMS

Believe me, if you don’t do it, nobody will. So, start taking responsibility for your actions, own up to your mistakes and take immediate action. It’s all about taking the right steps in the right direction.

Don’t be afraid to start your journey!

4. START MAKING YOUR HAPPINESS A NUMBER ONE PRIORITY IN YOUR LIFE

Your needs matter the same as mine. We are all citizen of this universe.

But, if you don’t have respect for yourself, you’ve chosen to undervalue those needs. You’ve chosen to sabotage yourself.

So, remember. Your happiness should be your number one priority. Take care of yourself first, and then take care of others as well.

5. START LIVING IN THIS MOMENT

Because the only thing that really exists is this exact moment. THE NOW. Everything else is either long gone or eventually bound to happen. But unfortunately, these parts of life are not up to you.

So, stay in this moment. And make the best of it!

6. START CHERISHING THE LESSONS LIFE GIVES YOU

Whatever you’re experiencing, it’s all some sort of a lesson you eventually need to learn. Some of them might break you, and destroy your hopes for the future, but everything that will happen to you is for a reason.

Cherish the lessons and embrace the changes.

7. START STANDING UP FOR YOURSELF

Be brave and stand up for what you believe in. Even if the things you believe in doesn’t really make sense. Don’t be afraid of what others will say!

8. START RESPECTING YOURSELF

And more importantly, start behaving unapologetically yourself. You are you. And you are amazing, unique, peculiar, goofy, wonderful, flawed, bruised, beautiful. But you are different. And that’s your power.

9. START APPRECIATING THE THINGS YOU HAVE

We often get so caught up wanting things we actually don’t need that we forget about all the precious things we already possess.

If you have a roof over your head, a warm bed to sleep at night, a loving and kind family to support you and a person who loves you more than anything in the world, you, my friend are the richest person in the world.

10. START SEEKING YOUR HAPPINESS WITHIN YOU

If you wait for someone else to make you happy, you’ll be waiting your whole life. You can’t search for happiness in other people. You own happiness can be found deep within you. All you have to do is look more carefully.

11. START ENTERING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS

If you don’t like where your life is going, make some changes. Cut off the toxic relationships in your life and start entering healthy relationships that will help you grow.

 Open yourself to the possibility of meeting new people. People who will inspire you, motivate you to begin your journey of self-awareness.

12. START PRAISING OTHER PEOPLE’S SUCCESS

If you like a person, or you enjoy their work, let them know. It won’t make you less of a person. On the contrary, it will inspire you to test your own limits and strive for greatness.

Be happy for other people’s progress. Admire their success.

13. START FORGIVING

Forgive others and move on. Forgive yourself in order to heal.

14. START LISTENING TO YOUR GUT

In case you didn’t know, there’s a lot of things about yourself you didn’t know that your gut can tell you. The intuition within ourselves is the most powerful tool we possess.

Follow your inner voice.

15. START APPRECIATING THE SMALL THINGS IN LIFE

It’s true what they say. Those little things in life, those rare gestures and beautiful moments that last only a minute or just a second are the things that make our lives more meaningful.

Don’t forget to appreciate the beauty of life.

16. START BEING MORE HONEST WITH YOURSELF

If you feel sad, cry your soul out. If you feel happy, laugh until your stomach hurts. If you want to scream, then shout from the top of the roofs.

Be open with yourself and express your feelings.

17. START CONCENTRATING ONLY ON THE THINGS YOU CAN CONTROL

Because the more you try controlling things that are out of your reach, the more disappointed you’ll be.

Focus only on the things that you can control in life. Everything else will fall into place on its own.

18. START TAKING FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE

The course of your actions will lead to certain consequences that might result with some difficulties. You have to understand that every action you take, has its own reaction.

The only way to control that is to take full responsibility for your life.

19. START PRACTICING POSITIVE THINKING

Always believe that you are capable of doing the things you wish. Practice positive thinking and mindfulness. But, never stop working on your dreams.

Achieving success and reaching greatness takes a lot of work, effort and energy.

20. START EMBRACING HEALTHY HABITS

Whatever it is, make some essential changes in your life.

21. START WORKING ON YOUR GOALS

The time is NOW! If you truly desire something, don’t hesitate to go for it. This life is short, and we deserve to do the things we’re passionate about. So, pursue your dream career, work hard to reach your goals and never stop striving for greatness.
