It’s true. Life is challenging and unpredictable. It is a frightening but at the same time thrilling roller coaster ride. No one asks you whether you are afraid of heights. You just sit down, buckle up, grab whoever is near you and hope for the best.
But here’s what… Sometimes, no matter how much you hope and pray that everything will turn out right, it simply doesn’t. Sometimes, reality gets too difficult for us to cope with it. Life knocks us down and before we know it, we are knee-deep in the gutter.
Suddenly it feels like our whole world is shattered to pieces. We are lost, afraid and confused. We feel everything too deeply. We struggle to understand what is happening to us…Yet, we are unable to describe the sadness that sits on our chest.
Hey, it is okay…
It is okay to be sad.
It is okay to feel lost.
It is okay to be down.
I know it hurts you to realize that you won’t always be in control of what happens to you, but in the end, when life knocks you down, there is always a good reason for it. All you can do at that moment is remember that no matter how grey the sky is, sad days don’t last forever.
You know how the saying goes… The bad news is nothing lasts forever; The good news is nothing lasts forever.
Everything you experience, even the darkest hours of your life happens for a reason. Every part of your journey, every obstacle, every fail, every challenge you face is meant to teach you a certain lesson. To help you grow. Even the sorrow in your heart has a certain purpose. Believe me, the universe never gives us more than we can handle.
What matters the most is your reaction to all of this.
You are stronger than you think. And it is ok…
It’s okay that you’ve lost direction.
It is okay that you are completely lost.
It is okay that you cannot seem to find the words to explain what is happening to you.
It is okay that you feel like no one really understands you.
It is okay that you need to isolate yourself from this world to find your purpose.
It is okay to have negative thoughts.
It is okay to feel sad.
That is a part of our human nature. We have emotions. And believe it or not, not everything we feel is always be positive. We cannot just decide to focus on the positive when there is a pile of negative thoughts inside of us that needs to be dealt with first.
Whenever life kicks you down, I want you to remember…
There is no shame in being confused and sad.
It is okay to feel whatever you feel.
I just hope that you find a way to remind yourself that nothing in life is forever. I hope you understand that everything you go through is just another lesson. I hope you keep your faith close to you. And most importantly, I hope you know that you can survive both the happy days and the bad days.
