How often do you hear someone mix-up Mariah Carey with Marie Curie? Well, it is not a usual mix-up but somehow the face of Marie Curie ended up on a birthday cake instead of Mariah Carey’s.
Harriet Alida Lye explained the situation in a tweet, saying that her cousin told her colleagues that she wanted a birthday cake with her favorite singer Mariah Carey on it.
One would think that there is no way that someone would confuse one of the most popular pop singers in the world with the world’s most popular woman scientist, but it happened. Instead of the requested Mariah Carey cake, Lye’s cousin got a birthday cake with the face of the Nobel Prize-winning Polish physicist Marie Curie.
“They misunderstood, and [this] is the cake they made her instead,” Lye wrote. “It’s Marie Curie, looking very festive.”
