We are living in a fast-paced world and it seems like no one has time to wait anymore. The internet is full of quotes and articles about grabbing every chance we have as fast as possible and make things happen, so it is no wonder we have become so impatient.
I, myself, am impatient. I spend my twenties planning and struggling to make things I’ve planned a reality – get my college degree, start my own career, meet the love of my life, and start a family with them.
I didn’t know about the power waiting has. I thought waiting is something you are doing if you are not brave enough to face your challenges and turn your dreams into reality. For me, waiting was an excuse to not take any action.
Luckily, now I know better. Because waiting is one of the most powerful assets that a person has to design the life they want and make it happen.
The mind and your ego hate to wait. That’s why your ego screams at you, “Do it! Everything you do is better than staying in limbo and don’t do anything!” And because our society is ego-driven, our inner voices tell us the same thing and we rush to do things and risk making a huge mistake.
Many of us don’t realize that the Universe has timing for all things and oftentimes it is not the timing we want. Many things happen on a subconscious level that we are not even aware of and therefore, it is essential for us to wait until we achieve the deep sense of inner knowing.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that everything will happen just the way you want them to, but you’ll know it in your heart when it’s the right time to do something. You’ll just need to separate yourself from your mind and from your ego.
Best is to take stock of everything you know and everything you don’t know and then WAIT. But wait actively, not passively.
If there is something that needs your attention and acquires some action from your part – do it. Then, wait for another urge to act. Follow your intuition and your inner guidance. Know that an answer will undoubtedly come, and you will achieve what you want.
This kind of waiting is nothing like procrastination that happens when we want to do something, but we are afraid to do it because that would require us to go out of our comfort zone. No. This waiting is when your mind tells you one thing, but you decide to ditch it and follow your intuition instead.
So, if you find yourself having to talk yourself into doing something – wait. Give yourself some time to process everything and let your inner guidance show you the way. Trust your gut more than your head and you will see how everything falls into place.
