I am not the kind of person who will stay with you knowing that I am one of your options. I refuse to be your option. I am and always have been a priority, and if you can’t see that then I am sorry but I’ll cut you off. Honesty, I can’t see the point in staying in a relationship with you if I am the only one who is giving. Yes, I love you, but I also want that love to be reciprocated. Otherwise, it’s self-torture and I love myself too much to do that to myself.
Therefore, if you want me in your life, you must choose me – every single day.
I know that things won’t be easy. There will be times when we can’t stand each other, days when you’ll annoy the hell out of me, and I’ll annoy the hell out of you. There will be days when loving each other will be so hard that we would want to just leave and give up. But, there will be also days when your hand will be the only thing I want to hold and your hug will be the only thing I need.
And during those times, I need you to choose me. I need us to always choose each other during both good and bad times. If you can’t do that, then let me go forever.
You see, the thing about love is that everything comes down to a CHOICE. It’s not the butterflies in your stomach that you experience when you meet someone amazing. It is a choice that you make every day with your partner.
You choose each other. You choose to love each other and fight for your relationship. That’s the reason why I expect you to choose me every day if I am going to be yours and you mine.
Choose me when I don’t feel like myself. Choose me on days when I refuse to leave my bed and my pajamas and also choose me on days when I feel my best and everything is lovely and amazing. Choose me when I am angry and upset, but also choose me when I can’t stop laughing.
Accept me as I am. Choose me. Love me. Respect me. Choose me every single day or let me go. I don’t have time for playing games. I refuse to be an option.
If you are not ready to commit to me in a real way, then let me go. I’ll go and find the love I’ve always wanted. I’ll go and make my dreams come true. I’ll find someone who will be there for me and choose me every day. Someone who cannot imagine living a life without me in it.
