Modern dating is truly exhausting and emotionally painful.
But, if there’s one thing I know, it’s the fact that it is completely up to us whether we will accept the rules this rotten society imposes on us and succumb to the pressure or refuse to waste our energy on anything that has no soul and wait for the real deal instead.
That is the truth, my friends.
That’s why this article goes to all of you out there who think that doing the bare minimum is considered an actual effort. Wake up. We are slowly destroying the real values. We are replacing them with meaningless things. We are forgetting the real meaning of love, solidarity, empathy, and care.
This world is becoming more and more insufferable to exist in.
So, here’s what.
I suggest we all brush up on our old-school values.
Are you ready? Let’s do it.
Don’t be flattered by a man who liked your new profile picture. Know your worth.
You deserve someone who would do anything to change your current relationship status.
Don’t be flattered that your crush actually responded to your text. That is not an effort.
You deserve to be with a man who will find the time to call you and wish you a good morning.
Don’t be flattered because he is the first one to open your new story.
You deserve to be with someone who won’t even need to open your social media account to see what you’re up to because he is always right there beside you.
Don’t be flattered by the man who leaves a comment under your selfie.
You deserve someone who would love you for who you are. Someone who will accept all of your imperfections and flaws.
Don’t be flattered by the guy who only calls you for a date whenever he wants to get laid.
You deserve a man who would hold your head while you sleep and wake up next to you every morning.
Don’t be flattered because he answered his phone.
You deserve to be with someone who always calls to ask you how your day was.
Don’t be flattered because he tells you just how much he misses you.
You deserve to be with someone who wouldn’t stand to spend his days without you.
Don’t be flattered he was the first person to wish you a happy birthday.
You deserve someone who would go out of his way to surprise you and spend his whole day with you.
Don’t be flattered because he buys you drinks and takes you on expansive dates.
You deserve a man who will give you more than those material luxuries. You deserve a man who will give you his heart. Someone who will share his whole life with you. A man who won’t try to buy you with his money, but instead someone who will buy you with his kindness and real intentions.
So, please. Don’t let these shallow, superficial moves flatter you.
Don’t let these modern dating rules force you to settle for less.
You deserve more than you know.
