Friends are essential to our well-being. Nowadays when so many of us live miles away, friends are perhaps more important than they have ever been before.
Have you heard the saying: “The language of friendship is not words but meanings?” I can relate to this saying because no words can describe how utterly grateful I am to my best friends.
Mutual understanding and trust are two essential factors in making a relationship last. And there shouldn’t even be a bit of jealousy. True friendship is a definition of unconditional love. True friends love you to the depth of your soul.
True friends support you when you’re having a bad time, and they’re happy for you when things go your way. I know that mine are always there for me.
I am grateful that I have friends that are completely honest with me, even when I don’t want to accept the truth. Not everyone can honestly tell me how a certain outfit looks on me, or whether I should go out dressed in jeans or a dress.
When it comes to the truth, they are the ones to tell me that I like someone way too much, or whether this someone is a good fit for me. And even though I can’t handle the truth sometimes, they are there to make it easier for me.
I am thankful that I have friends who always lift my mood. When I am around them, I am my true self. And being yourself around someone means everything. Whenever I am down, they help me get rid of my bad thoughts. Whenever I need a drink, they buy me a whole bottle.
I am thankful that I have friends who can’t wait to celebrate life with me. It’s so comforting to know that after getting your driver’s license or after getting a new job, there is someone out there that can’t wait to celebrate with you and have a nice glass of wine with you.
Only your true friends can be truly happy for your accomplishments. And I’ll always be grateful to mine for caring for me and considering me a family.
I am thankful that I have friends that go out of their way to help me. True friendship is not always convenient, and sometimes we ask too much. But a true friend comes to the rescue whether you need to go to the hospital, or whether you need a late pick-up from the airport or a nice meal delivered to your home when you are not feeling well.
In a rapidly changing world, I am the most thankful that I have friends who walk beside me and remind me that I am not alone. My friends are my safety net and they are a big part of my life. I love my friends and I love spending time with them. That is why I am taking this opportunity to express my gratitude to them and love for them and let them know that they mean the world to me.
