As cliché as it may sound, life is what we make it. It is what we choose and most importantly how we choose to see it. And the most comforting thing of all is that there is always a chance. No matter how far away you drifted, there’s always a way out.
A genius named F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote: “For what it’s worth… it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it.”
“I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”
…And he couldn’t have said it better than this. For all of you beautiful souls out there who struggle with letting go and starting all over once again, this one is for you.
These are 8 powerful and eye-opening methods in order to help yourself start all over again and find your own happiness within.
1. Start practicing light meditation
Go lightly and embrace every change. Start off by adopting calmer and stress-free activities. Mediating might be just the perfect thing for you. Learn to focus and release every burden on your mind.
It doesn’t necessarily need to be a meditation course, you can also start at home. There’s a lot of work until you reach the ‘nirvana’ state of mind, but you’ll get there.
2. Spend more time beneath the starry sky
There’s a certain magic at night that can’t be compared with even the brightest, most beautiful day ever. The energy the moon releases affects our body and gets absorbed by our soul.
Calm your perplexing mind and lose yourself gazing at the majestic starry sky. You’ll see what I’m talking about.
3. Learn to be more compassionate
This world would use more compassion now more than ever. We need more and more people who own an empathic soul and will try to understand anything. Practice forgiveness and compassion. It will be one of your most useful qualities on your journey to self-awareness and self-love.
4. Find the perfect way to recharge
Seek out the most suitable way to recharge your batteries whenever you feel weak. For some it’s spending more time in nature, for others it’s reading a book. Me? I prefer to isolate myself from the outer madness within the comfort of my magical, comfy nook.
5. Let go of everything that weighs you down
Don’t let the past meddle with your life. This moment is the present. It is occurring now, and no matter what you were going through in the past, it’s not worth it to bring it back. You know why? Because you can’t do anything to bring things the way they once were.
The same applies to the people in your life. Before you start to work on yourself, make sure you are starting with a clean slate. Eliminate every toxic individual that ‘rains on your parade’.
6. Surround yourself with the ones you love
When deciding to start off fresh, make sure you bring enough positivity into your life. Learn to give away your time more selfishly. Be careful to whom you give your attention to. Surround yourself only with the true ones, the people who were always a major part of your life and are here to stay forever.
7. Do something you’ve always wanted to try
And if you feel somewhat disoriented, take some time to sort your thoughts and go for something new. Explore your soul, go for a new experience, a fresh new hobby, start crafting, go swimming, learn to dance. Whatever your heart desires. The world is your stage.
8. Spend some time isolated
And if you feel like it, spend some time isolated from everyone. You don’t need to explain yourself, just leave. Go on a trip alone. Let your thoughts flow freely and your batteries recharge nicely. It is a life-changing experience I truly recommend for everyone to try it.
Once you come back you’ll feel how relieved and rejuvenated you’ll be.
Here’s to fresh new beginnings, exciting experiences and twice as much conquered heights!
