8 Reasons Why Individuals With INFJ Personality Are So Difficult To Understand

Have you heard of the Myers-Briggs personality types?

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator is based on the Karl Jung’s theory of psychological type and according to their work, there are 16 possible combinations of personalities with four essential factors:

Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I); Sensing (S) or Intuition (N); Thinking (T) or Feeling (F); Judging (J) or Perceiving (P).

Now, one of them is the INFJ personality type. This is the rarest personality type.

To some of you who haven’t heard about it, people with INFJ personality types are in a constant battle between their inner and outer worlds. These individuals seem like they have two different denies.

So, naturally, this contradictive personality is often very difficult to understand for some people.

And this is why exactly people with INFJ personalities are truly perplexing and complex human beings:

1. THEY CHERISH THEIR TIME ALONE, YET THEY NEED TO BE AROUND PEOPLE

They may be introverted and isolated inside their own world, but they are also feeling, which means that they need to be around people. Their focus is not only on themselves but also on the world around them. This may sound contradictive, but it is what it is.

INFJ people have a real need for companionship and intimate bonds with people. But, surprisingly as it sounds, there are times when all they need is their sacred alone.

2. THEY MIGHT SEEM LIKE EASY-GOING PEOPLE, BUT DEEP DOWN THEY ARE PERFECTIONISTS

People with INFJ personality types are both intuitive and judging, and those are two more traits that sound contradictory. Even though they sometimes seem like calm and aloof people, they are also natural born perfectionists.

While they are intuitive and like spontaneity, they also have the need to have everything under control. Go figure.

3. THEY HAVE AN ARTISTIC SIDE, BUT THEY ARE OFTEN TOO RATIONAL

While INFJ people have a wild, untamable artistic side of themselves, they can also be very judgmental. The thing is, they have waves of fresh ideas, but they are too harsh on themselves. They tend to criticize themselves and judge their work before it actually develops into a final product.

That is why, they often deal with a lot of unfinished work, pending projects and missed deadlines. Because of their highly sensitive nature, they are also too afraid of what others would have to say about them.

4. THEY ARE A MESS, BUT THEY ALSO APPRECIATE TIDINESS

Because of their judging and artistic trait, INFJ’s are known as aesthetes. They have a soft spot for organizing things and arranging stuff around the house. However, since they are known as the most conflicted type, they sometimes tend to live life on the edge and embrace the chaos. After all, it might be just their way of finding balance in this universe.

5. THEY STAND UP FOR OTHERS, BUT NOT FOR THEMSELVES.

When it comes to fighting for the greater good, INFJ’s are fierce warriors. They have a strong sense of justice, and a great courage. If someone dares to break the justice system, they’d have to deal with them.

But, there’s one thing that doesn’t quite fit in their story. They might be the real heroes, but when it comes to defending their own rights, they usually fail to stand up for themselves. This usually comes from their lack of self-confidence.

6. THEY ARE SIGNIFICANTLY PROFOUND, BUT THEY CRAVE EARTHLY EXPERIENCES

INFJ’s love engaging in long, stimulating conversations with people who know how to entertain their minds and help them reach a powerful mindgasm.

However, even though they enjoy discussing the spiritual and ethereal mysteries, they love to experience the world through their 5 senses. They have the need to be surrounded by beautiful things, tasty meals, cozy places, nice smells, soothing music and all those small things that make life perfect.

7. THEY MIGHT SEEM DISTANT, BUT THEY CARE A LOT

Their introverted side makes them isolated and sometimes very distant from other people, but that is only because INFJ’s find their peace in their solitude. Everything they need is already in their souls. All they need to do is to shut down and wander off.

However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t care. These sensitive beings, these pure souls care about others, more than anyone else.

8. THEY ARE BORN EMPATHS

These people are intuitive, introvert and they’re feeling, not thinking. That is why they are known as highly sensitive, empathic beings.

They absorb the feelings of others. When someone is happy, they feel their joy. When someone is miserable, they feel their sorrow. Even though this is the greatest gift a person can get, in a way, it is also their curse.

So, tell me, are you an INFJ? Or you’re maybe a different personality type?
